Hood, doors and hatch are aluminum. Aluminum is stronger than steel by weight...

Front bumper and rear bumper are plastic. Same with 99% of cars out there these days...side skirts are plastic, but there's steel underneath...they're decorative!

The rest is steel.

Never said anything about the doors or the hood, obviously those are aluminum. I still stand by that the Hatch is plastic though.

The hatch door is aluminum. Plastic would be lighter, then we wouldn't all need new hatch springs!

The 350Z had a 5-star crash test rating, but I don't know if that was front, rear, or whatever. I doubt Nissan made a large step back with the 370Z. Also, my insurance premiums are slightly less for my 370Z compared to my 2008 350Z.

And the hatch is aluminum, not plastic.
