Guys, I think a simple: "Please dont post about street racing" would suffice and then close the thread. I doubt negative comments like the ones we see here are going to change the persons drving habits, but rather discourage him from being a part of our community altogether. Sure you can make the argument that we dont want those types of drivers in our community anywho, but maybe showing the guy how awesome track racing/autoX can be would be a more effective way to change the habit.

Voice of reason, out!

Wow, didn't expect these responses. So none of you have ever given into temptation and did a little over the speed limit? Its fine if you dont agree with my post, what i find shocking is that we are all owners of true sports cars, and all of a sudden i post a story about speed and everyone criticizes me about it......i guarantee everyone who responded to my post has a similar story...thanks for the support

A LITTLE over the speed limit, yes. I personally absolute hate and am against street racing. Can't wait for another 1500km on my Z so I could take it to the track. Street racing is illegal, irresponsible, dangerous to the public and just plain stupid.

I agree, I hoped by doing a quick first reaction to avoid this, but I was to late

Anyways to the OP, I'll hit you up this summer and we can take a trip to the drag strip or some autox events, maybe we'll find a Porsche there to run against...

Agreed. Geez guys, we've all made mistakes. I agree he shouldn't-a-done it, I would not have, but give the guy a break. He needs to know that that kind of stuff is NOT cool, is very dangerous, and he needs to learn that allowing some idiot to goad you into a road race is, well just stupid.

Once he sees that we're not impressed, he will most likely thank us for removing that child like response from ever happening again.

Beating someone up for making a mistake never makes them better for it.

I AutoX'ed my 3000GT once, and it was a ****ing rush. My whole body was shaking before and after each run, much more so than any spirited highway driving. I gotta take the Z once its broken in.

Everybody speeds, but most of us are responsible enough to keep the racing on the track. Or at least abide by forum rules and not post about it.

Hell yeah. If I have open, high-quality road I'll take my chance and hit some numbers, but never against another car or around traffic. Seen too many fatal accidents for that.

I typically am not the kind of driver to do this, but after hitting high speeds, I was VERY surprised to see that I kept up with this Porsche very easily. In really tight turns he had a little more traction i feel like, his back tires were HUGE....so he might have had me there..........SOOOOO my question is, has anyone else experienced going against a Porsche, particularly the Carrera 4 or any other models??? I happen to think the Z did very well, and I know this was highway driving as opposed to the track, but im interested to see if anyone else has stories about Z's vs Porsches.................
