I love the looks of the 370z coupe, but the primary competition for it (for my personal purchasing decision) is a 2-4 year old Boxster S. The hard top coupe is a tough sell for my wife who thinks sports cars should be "fun" and "fun=convertible" for her. I have only seen a few pics of the supposed 370z convertible and so far it is not nearly as impressive as the coupe. I need more angles and I need to see the top up before I could have a real opinion though.
Why do you care how the car looks with the top up? Except on rare occasions, if the weather didn't permit tow-down motoring; I didn't drive my roadster.

Edit: I'm a bit skeptical of the accuracy of the pics...they could be the real deal but I wouldn't make any decisions until Nissan officially releases pics.

The official reveal is just a couple months away so the car must physically exist. I thought these pictures looked genuine because they appear to be a real car in an actual parking lot. They just don't have the sort of unrealistic polish that most fake pictures have.

I agree on the top down thing. Very few convertibles really look good with the top up anyway. I live in OH though and even though I am seriously considering parking the car in a barn for December-March, I have to be realistic that the top will be up a lot.

Amusingly, my bad weather car is also a convertible though.

I used to park my Jeep with the top off very regularly and it has been rained in several times. Jeeps are made to be rained in and even the stereo seems to be pretty resilient to getting wet. I have a feeling that if it ever rained in my Saab with the top down, I would have to replace a lot of electronics. If I buy a brand new $35-40k sports car I am going to be damn sure that it doesn't get rained in.

Yes...they physical cars exist and while I don't have first-hand knowledge, I am sure there are several in the country right now; both here (in Nashville area) and Arizona. However, it is highly doubtful that anyone will see on on the street without a good bit of camo and if some tech were do make that mistake, they likely wouldn't be a Nissan tech for very long.

I try not to drive any of my Zs in bad weather; at least not if I can avoid it and I never liked my ZR with the top up. However, I really didn't worry about it much...very few 'verts truly look good with the top up.

I'm considering a G37 convertible since it's a hard-top - best of both worlds.
