Tougher crash standards and other regulations add weight to the current vehicles so the consumers tells Nissan that we want more for our money and a lighter car. Nissan says ok consumer here is your better and lighter 370Z for just about the same money. Consumer says, hey Nissan, what happened to all of the unnecessary stuff that made the car heavier than the out going model and more disconnected from the road. Nissan says we left it all in the scale tipping G37 for all to marvel.
LOL! Nice!

A backup camera isn't useful unless they also install sensors to tell you how many feet you are from hitting something..

Only Luxury car's have these sensors. You'll be hard pressed to find that in a sports car.

I wouldn't trust judging distance with just a picture.

Do what I do.. don't parallel park, and don't backup, lmao. ;-)

This "hold-out until next year's car" is just endless. I have learned to buy what you want as soon as possible and deal with the minor issues it might have. Every year, there will be something better.

Nissan has a habit of adding little features and/or fixing issues with their cars every year.

There are only a very few exceptions when "holding out" might be logical (ie. Major mechanical or electrical problems). But that doesn't seem to be the case for the 370Z as of now.

I only back into my own garage, so it shouldnt be too much of a concern. Maybe I would just hang a tennis ball like my grandparents.

Yeah, I parallel park a lot here in Los Angeles... It's pretty much the only way to get parking anywhere. Not to mention that I'm in a car club, so we cruise everywhere and we HAVE to parallel park in some CRAMPED placed.

We aren't big into the parallel parking thing here. I can't remember the last time I had to do it.

im coming from a G37... and honestly the backup camera is only useful to get an idea of your surroundings.. its very hard to judge distance with and doesnt help you really parallel park or back into spots.. So with that being said.. is it really that big of a deal? IMO no.. is it nifty... yes.. if it were available would i order it..? sure why not

When I park, it tends to be back of the lot where I can take up a couple spots anyway.

Woah lots of responses so far! Man I barely noticed about the no rear windshield wiper, I didn't even notice that on my test drive. It rained here Sunday and the rear wiper was a must on my 350z otherwise I just couldn't see behind me. All things to take into consideration I guess but I'll be visiting some SoCal dealerships this weekend and take a closer look but I think I'm still getting it, I mean its a sports car not a mini van.

The last line says it all. I mean, safety is great, but I think if you are driving this car for it's sports attributes, you'll get used to the small stuff. Starting out on the 240z with no safety feature like nowadays, I loved that car! Weight had to be saved somewhere and like stated before, the G37 is the way to go if you don't care about weight savings and tighter handling. The Infiniti guys will do a deal close to the 370 price as they have quite a few on the lot, at least that's what my local dealers are dealing with.

The biggest complaint I have was with the blind spot especially the driver side, I couldn't out that tiny window for the life of me no matter what angle, I could not see out that window. Other then that, I absolutely love the car but I will probably wait until the next 2010 models to come out and hopefully they will have fixed some of the gripes.
