This "hold-out until next year's car" is just endless. I have learned to buy what you want as soon as possible and deal with the minor issues it might have. Every year, there will be something better.

Nissan has a habit of adding little features and/or fixing issues with their cars every year.

There are only a very few exceptions when "holding out" might be logical (ie. Major mechanical or electrical problems). But that doesn't seem to be the case for the 370Z as of now.

The biggest complaint I have was with the blind spot especially the driver side, I couldn't out that tiny window for the life of me no matter what angle, I could not see out that window. Other then that, I absolutely love the car but I will probably wait until the next 2010 models to come out and hopefully they will have fixed some of the gripes.

All things to take into consideration I guess but I'll be visiting some SoCal dealerships this weekend and take a closer look but I think I'm still getting it, I mean its a sports car not a mini van.
The last line says it all. I mean, safety is great, but I think if you are driving this car for it's sports attributes, you'll get used to the small stuff. Starting out on the 240z with no safety feature like nowadays, I loved that car! Weight had to be saved somewhere and like stated before, the G37 is the way to go if you don't care about weight savings and tighter handling. The Infiniti guys will do a deal close to the 370 price as they have quite a few on the lot, at least that's what my local dealers are dealing with.

I brought that exact page to the first dealership I went to just to look at the car. The salesman brought out another options page and the aluminum pedals being a standard option on a base model wasn't marked. I, of course, asked why it was a standard option for the base model on the Nissan's website and he had no clue. Either there website is wrong(most likely) or they are not installing them on base models at the port...... or something like that.

The lack of heated side mirrors on the touring model is pretty weird especially given the absence of a rear window wiper too. I understand that the 370 is a sports car but I mean come on, my 350 has heated side mirrors and a rear wiper. Those are safety features in bad weather so at least give me the option to add them in Nissan! Not trying to put the 370 down; I like it and it will most likely replace my 350 in the Spring anyway but there are little things like that that just don't make much sense when talking about a fully loaded CAD 50K car...

I have a 7AT and I have some complaints regarding the transmission shifting from 1st to 2nd and also from 2nd to 1st. For example, sometimes the car will be really jumpy when I'm lightly accelerating in the parking lot or accelerating from a stoplight. In the other hand, the transmission feels like it completely disengages when I let off the gas around 20-30mph'ish.

Also, there was an instance where I floored the gas to switch lane and the transmission just totally didn't engage. The car barely accelerated and the tachometer hit 9k+. Is this just a misshift or something or I should look into it?

Wow I just finished reading al the pages of this thread and I must say... You guys are spoiled lol I am coming from an 07 s2000 and we had 0 heated features, road noise is a B1TCH (try listening to the radio on a rainy day lol), and we didnt have tilt or telescoping steering wheel or nav or anything of the sort.

The s2000 was a 30K+ car too. I have the next PW touring fully loaded that is coming to the states with my name on it. I have about a week till it gets here and I have driven both the base and the touring with and without sport packages and I must say I am impressed enough to trade in my S2k for one. The Glare people talk about on the gauges is not bad at all either. I think the baby's need to go suck their thumbs cause it could be "a true sports car" and come base model like the s2k and no options!

All in all this is a great car dispit a few little gripes here and there with peoples personal preferences.

Check your transmission fluid level. And, try gradual pressure for acceleration, not all the way to the floor "all at once".

I've had the car for a few weeks now and Bullit is correct. The glare one the left set of gauges isn't that bad. I think I noticed it once when the sun just happened to be on that side of the car as I was driving. I do look to check the temperature once in a while, but unless your the type to just stare at your fuel gauge and water temp, it isn't a big issue. Keep your eyes on the road please.

Agreed, sounds like low fluid. Personally, I'd take it back to the dealer and explain the symptoms, no way that's normal. If the Tranny is defective, you want the dealer in on it ASAP.

Noted, I'm on hold with the dealership for an appointment as I'm typing this. Hoping it's not something too serious. :/
