So if they say the gremlin in the engine is causing a problem. Get them to put it in writing. Just in case you have to go back to get it fixed a second time you can ask them what is the reason now? You just might get a new reason second time around and get that in writing also hehe.

On an old 240SX I had there was some build up around the throttle plate that was affecting idle. It was more like dirt though, not sure how they are calling it carbon...

i think the stealership is screwing with you or don't know what they're doing. why would oil cause a misfire? especially in only one specific cylinder?
