If the 7AT in the 370Z was a dual clutch design like the GT-R, then yes I would have considered it. In the end it still uses a torque converter

If the 7AT in the 370Z was a dual clutch design like the GT-R, then yes I would have considered it. In the end it still uses a torque converter and there is still lag when queuing an upshift or downshift.
I came from a steptronic 6AT 335i, considered one of the best conventional automatic transmissions in a production car. Shift speed is 2nd only to the IS-F. I still missed the instant response and total control of a manual, thats why when I got my 370Z it was a no brainer for me. Absolutely LOVE the feel of the manual in this car.
