Dealer Decision

Would you guys buy from a dealer that has a bad rep from online reviews? I'm looking at a 370z Base Pearl White A/T. It's the closest one near me.

Question

Every purchase can yield a different story. What is the bad rap for?

Most people saying that its the worst experience theey ever had. How they are liars. Typical dealers I guess. But maybe in this recession they are a little nicer this time around.

Koeppel Nissan Reviews Jackson Heights NY | Car Dealer Check

heres the link. They are more I just put the first one that I saw. I emailed them. I'm trying my best to stay away as long as possible. If not i'll just find another dealer.

I suggest you check their local chapter of the BBB...I'd trust BBB info long before I'd trust what someone says on the internet about a business.

The internet is a great place for communication and information but let's face it, when you read something that someone has written you have absolutely no idea if it has any credibility at all...while no source is perfect, more "standard" sources of information like the BBB at least have a methodology they go through to try and separate fact from fiction.

Default Why not

I personally dont care if the dealer is jacked or not. Black and white will never lie. If you can get the ride you want for invoice/or so, go for it. Salesman can be a RICHARD if he wants, as long as I get what I want.

What I see gives me some concern.

Car dealerships are often the target of dissatisfied customers for any number or reasons...what mattes most is how the dealership deals with the complaints and whether one dealer is getting more than comparable dealerships in the same general geographic area.

You might want to pick a few other dealerships in your area - I'd pick dealers who tend to sell a similar range of products as Nissan offers and look at their BBB stats...if after looking at them this Nissan dealer stands out as being the subject of more complaints (especially unresolved complaints) than the others then I'd find another dealer to work with.

You also might want to check out this thread: For those ready to buy a 370/other new Nissan or Infiniti Vehicle as I may at least be able to help you get a good deal.

Basically if they have the car and the price you want then what difference does it make? You never have to see them again after that unles they give you your first oil change for free. You can take the car to any dealer for service or warranty work.

These cars are getting tough to find in the exact combination that you are looking for. I wanted a loaded yellow one and there were only two in the state of Maryland at dealers I didn't care for, and neither of them would to trade the car to a dealership I liked. I had a deal worked with both dealers. The first one dropped the value of my trade by 1500 after I signed everything and was waiting for the financing guy. I walked right out and the second one honored the deal.

Use nissanusa.com and you'll find a lot of dealers within minutes of you. (Use Robert Nash's VPP to save a little below invoice. ... Use overstock.com to see the best prices the rest of the world are paying. ;-)

My uncle lived on 78th Street in JH, so I passed this particular dealership all the time. There was nothing visual to recommend them. Cramped location. The negatives you found are all pretty recent, and when I check companies like this, I like to see the problems are a year or more in the past.

Find (1) a dealer who will treat you with respect, and (2) don't walk in cold. Generate a few salespeople calling you (through referral programs like overstock, etc.)
