Thumbs down Piece of the ceiling in my garage almost fell on the Z

I'm having my roof replaced today so I'm working from home. I went to walk my girlfriend out through the garage and see a pile of debris on the ground about 10 ft from my Z. Apparently there was water damage to some of the sheet rock and it gave way while they were removing the old shingles.

I talked to the workers and they said it looks like it was only that area that was damaged and I shouldn't be worried about anything falling on the car. I can't even pull the car out now cause the dumpster is right behind it. I'm so paranoid that something is going to come crashing down on the Z

Edit: just realized it missed my motorcycle by even less but I didn't even notice cause I was so worried about the Z

no bueno man..

My mom had her bathroom flood once thereby bringing the garage ceiling down on her 86 300ZX. Definitely a shitty experience, although after a good paint job (red) she looked better than ever.

maybe you can get a sort of awning to put over it. wouldn't hurt to put some thick blankets over her too.

This actually crossed my mind

Seriously though I really don't have anything that I'd trust putting on it to protect it. Any blanket I throw on top will probably put little scratches in the paint. I'm one of those obsessive guys that only lets soft 100% cotton cloths touch my car.

I've just gone and checked on the car for the 6th time in about 20 minutes...

I can't imagine the rage if something like this happened to me. I would just run towards the nearest living thing and kill it.

Its just a car fellas, it can be replaced. Concern should be if he or his woman are in the garage and something happens to fall on them..... be careful.

This type of "people > car" thinking is not welcome.

Back in July I had a very large branch fall ontop of my truck in a storm. Went outside and all I saw was a chrome grill and tow hooking sticking out of green. I can't describe how sick I felt. Needed to take a hacksaw and cut away the branches to get her out. Don't know how, but not a broken window, or dent anywhere. I had just waxed it about a week before and only in a few places was the wax even scuffed. I got really lucky
