My girlfriend and i were running some errands this weekend and i asked her what side the gas tank was on and she showed me on the gauge where there is a gas pump and an arrow indicating that the tank is on the right.....well to make a short story long..it was new to me and will make my life easier, some may already know this but for those who don't i just wanted to share.
Yup...that's pretty much on every make and model...

I forget every time I go to fill up. I'm pretty bad with those sorts of things. I can memorize 10 digits numbers in a few seconds though!

Default Not true

Snopes has debunked this going back to 2007 when it started making the rounds as spam.

snopes.com: Gas Pump Icon and Fuel Door

But, hey, any car has a 50/50 shot of it being correct since there's only two possible placements for the gas cap.

Snopes article is talking about the handle. This thread is about the little triangle arrow (I think).

The Snopes article refers to the pump icon. The OP was for an arrow next to the icon. The arrow points to the side of the vehicle the filler door is on.

Noted: you drive a '74, you get a free pass

I'm driving one of 4 different cars so I can never remember, that combined with rental cars while travelling ... which half the time I can't even remember what color or brand I just rented. Thankfully I usually remember to look down at the arrow as I hesitate while pulling up to the pump.
