Vanity Plates? Anyone

NY vanity plate will be rare starting this year. They will cost $250 every time you register. I have 2 vehicles with personalized plates. $500 to keep them isn't worth it to me. Another reason not to live in NY

Ouch! Here in Canada, my vanity plate was free. I only paid the registry fee (which was $22).

It's because my vanity plate is my Ham Radio license call-sign and they are free in Canada.

That's just plain robbery !!!

It only costs extra to make the plate. After that, it costs no more to the state than anyone else with a random tag.

not true! It would be $62.50 every 2 years, not $250. Still a crime.
NY is a joke with these fees, helluva way to pay down debt:

Passenger and Commercial Plates	$50.00	$31.25

Motorcycles	$30.00	$18.75

^* The annual fee is in addition to your vehicle registration renewal fee and will be paid when you renew your registration. A registration renewal for two years will include two annual fees.

It was $62.50, which I didn't mind paying. It's going to be $250 this year. I hope I'm wrong. If I am I will keep my plates.
