NY vanity plate will be rare starting this year. They will cost $250 every time you register. I have 2 vehicles with personalized plates. $500 to keep them isn't worth it to me. Another reason not to live in NY

It's because my vanity plate is my Ham Radio license call-sign and they are free in Canada.

It only costs extra to make the plate. After that, it costs no more to the state than anyone else with a random tag. F*@K1Ng ******** !

It was $62.50, which I didn't mind paying. It's going to be $250 this year. I hope I'm wrong. If I am I will keep my plates.
