this kinda thing happens when you get a car that is usually out of the younger demographic's price range. Alot(not all) of the older people push their values and opinions harder than they do onto their own children.

True. I mean I AM 21 and own a 370Z. Most younger people who would get a car like this would be blasting it at maximum constantly and just being a total jackass on street and bam news report young driver crashes and dies giving insurance companies more reasons to be jackasses to younger drivers.

I personally rarely have the music higher than half as I dislike driving with music blasting as it makes me feel less focused. Hell, if I go somewhere I havent driven yet especially cities I tend to just turn the music off to have maximum concentration. so it will be very rare for me to blow out my speakers

I think the difference is that you have nav. Nav = no numeric volume indicator (?)

Yes, I was being a smart-***. There's a lot of truth in the sentiment I was expressing, but at the same time I try not to take things too seriously. I mean really, so what if someone wants to crank their volume? I wouldn't, but to each his own. Ever see those morons driving around with headphones stuck in their ears? Now those people really make me cringe.

Yes..I didn't realize they were talking about the stock one. I forget that the Touring/Navigation ones have a different stereo. That's what I get for trying to join a conversation without looking back to see what they were talking about! hehe.. After reading the thread, I couldn't wait to figure out what "number" I listened to my stereo on...only to find I had no numbers. I took this to mean that yes I probably AM too old and mature...or too blind to see the #'s.

12 is the perfect volume for me---for listening to Rush Limbaugh. He pushes the speakers to their limit even at that number!

I have to admit that after reading the thread I went and searched around the nav screen for numbers too.

LOL ill have to admit i did it once on my recent trip to california. but the road noise was so bad on a certian section of the 5 that i did it as an ear plug moreso than to listen to music. i could still hear the road nice quite a bit though.

I've used my iPod with a set of Shure in-ear headphones while driving the wife's car a few times. The stock radio in that car is lousy compared to the Z. Anyway, I have to agree that it can be dangerous because in-ear monitors isolate you from the outside world unless you have it turned down really low.
