Would we even be able to use an oil pressure gauge? From my understanding, it isn't a default value our ECU measures and the pressure switch we have is more

From my understanding, it isn't a default value our ECU measures and the pressure switch we have is more of an on/off to trigger the "low oil pressure" light vs. measuring the what the actual pressure is. I could be wrong though.
