After all my court visits I have become somewhat knowledgeable...
I got court on the 18th for failure to yield or stop at the sign.
Yippie!

Getting out of a traffic ticket:
-Be nice!
-When asked "do you know how fast you were going?" respond with "I was paying more attention to the road than my speedometer, but it seems like I was going a safe and reasonable speed." Never admit that you were speeding, because he will note it and you will never get out of it in court.
-Ask the police officer if he is allowed to give you a warning, and state that will definitely be more careful.

If you end up with a ticket anyway:
-Ask to see the radar. If he produces it, look for a calibration sticker. (I wouldn't ask for this until you're sure youre getting a ticket, as it's likely to piss him off).
-Always try to fight it in court. You have a good chance of at least getting the amount reduced.

dunno about kissing a pig's arse. seems like taking a ticket is much better. anyway, does that work in a speed trap? the whole point of a speed trap is to write tickets, so it seems strange that they can let some one off with a warning.

In the State of New Jersey, you are not allowed to see the radar nor video tape. But everything else will help you out a little bit.

Funny enough, some places have laws that they have to show you the radar, while others have rules against it. My buddy here got pulled over and they refused to show it.

1. i disagree. the ONLY time i write someone a ticket, is when they lie. when they admit, and are honest, unless they are doing double the limit (ect), thats good enough for me. in court, if i said you admitted it, and you didnt, good luck convincing a judge the cop is lying (i dont ever do that, but something to consider)

2. NEVER ask for a warning. its a kick in the face. OK mam, i pulled you over just to warn you. your better off being polite, and being normal than kissing major ***, or giving attitude.

3. courts must be different there. once you fight the ticket and loose, they usually take away your right to traffic school, and fine reduction. if you plead guilty, they usually say you can do community service here.

again, this is all from what i know, in the LA area. none of this applies to CHP. i have had them pull me over for window tint (which i am not allowed to have, but know that, and if i get written for that no big deal) and literally throw my ID back at me. stupid fook doesnt realize I show up if hes getting shot at or puts out a help call. CHP also is out there to write tickets. LAPD, possibly others, is mainly there to arrest, or look for the big fish with dope/guns/warrants ect. we have no quotas, and get no reward for tickets.

<shrug> Working for the City, I know a lot of cops, this is the advice they offer. http://www.the370z.com/members/frost...046t-shrug.gif
And yes, they must be different here, the judge generally won't take away your ability to go to traffic school unless you were doing something insane.

I watched a judge take away the guy's ability for court for doing 30 over. Other than that, just some real reckless driving.

Pushing_Tin 03-06-2010 07:03 PM

Had the Z for 14 months now and 10k miles, no pull overs or tickets. I also have a little friend though.
