Convince me to get a Nismo 370z.

had the same dilemma, but ended up getting base with sports package..... for one thing, if you are considering about SC or TT, then the base would be more cost-effective....

in terms of performance, the nismo and base are not much different - at least the price difference is not justifiable...............

not even going to read the thread and no i won't convince you to buy the nismo because the only people who buy the nismo are people who either: are mistaken that it is better, have absolutely no plans to modify it as it is already good enough in they're minds(not the person who should be buying a nismo), people who are baller and enjoy lighting they're cigarettes with $50 bills and don't care that a sport+base can have a better interior/system/power/handling with less money when modified, people willing to pay double what the bodykit costs from a dealer to have it because they like it so much, or dicks that just wan't to say that they're car is a fricken nismo. No offense to anyone that owns a nismo a couple of you guys are ok.

*you wanted a car that PRETENDS it's a track car" you have the exact same brakes a sports package, your car handles no better than a sports package, with only $1000 dolars a guy with a sports package car can have more power than you, and your car comes riced out from the factory?

In overview, the Nismo feels — and looks — more like a race car than the stock 370Z, with sharper handling responses and better acceleration. At $39,540, the Nismo is the ideal vehicle for Z lovers who want just a little more in their daily sports car.

i think it's preference so no one should have to convince you. i was either going to get the sport or nismo. i went with the nismo and currently changing out the wheels with no regrets. quite a few people don't agree with that but hey it's my car. i also think the touring package is the "nismo" of interiors because there is so much better in the aftermarket as far as sound and navi, and i'm not a fan of leather. and no i don't light cigarettes with $50 bills that's insane. twenties and fives work just as well.

Hey, look who it is - "Mr. I Search for 'NISMO' once a week and post in that thread only"

OP - if you want to modify the car to perform any better than stock, stick with the base/sport.

On the other hand, if you absolutely want to stay stock and have a lot of extra money to blow on almost nothing at all, go ahead and get the Nismo 370. You'll pick up the eternal respect of fanboi's like xfrgtr lol.

Care to enlighten us as to what exactly makes a base with sport faster than a Nismo. I respect a lot of the opinions that say a Nismo may not be as good a value as a base/sport but let's not get carried away.

actually depending on who did the testing the nismo either handles marginaly better, the same, or marginally worse than a sport package. when it comes to suspension you scarifice ride quality with the nismo being stiffer yet track testing has shown there is almost no gain at all in actual performance. The car has a hair more power than a sport and yet it still runs nearly identical times on the track. The only place a nismo really beats a sport is in a straight line in which case u should have bought a camaro or a base+sport+HFC's and exhaust. You do not have a hardcore race tuned machine, you have a riced up sports package with a shatty stereo. Look at the difference between a regular 350z and a nismo 350z it makes the nismo 370 look like a fricken rip off for 39k plus change you should be significantly faster than my 8,000 dollar less car, I spent 4,000 so far in the aftermarket and i have a better stereo, more power, and a faster handling car than someone who paid double what i did for those same upgrades but worse.

Edit: and I am NOT jealous of a nismo because i almost bought one until i realized it really is just a bunch of flash with no real substance for an extra 30% of the price of the car.

Dude, all I asked was for Spearfish to justify his statement. I can go all day without your rants.

sorry if it's rantish but it's justification. All of the magazine tests (as well as others) show no more than a .1G improvement on the skid pad if that I have four or 5 different ones laying around my house if you don't want to read it online. Identical part numbers on the brakes and pads unless you opt for the nismo race compound (note car and driver drove one into a wall thanks to the nismo not being equipped with upgraded pads) so the brakes are the exact same as the sport. and many forum members have posted up audio and exhaust threads that have more power and better quality. For the price of a nismo you could even have a KW set of coilovers added then there would be no comparison.

Edit: just read the one xfrgtr posted when road and track did the nismo the results go up and down between the two for the whole test.

For every magazine you talk about showing marginal-to-no gains, you'll have someone reply with, "Oh, but it wasnt broken in yet!" - whatever.
