Default "Airbag Diagnostic Unit Sensor No communication Internal Open Circuit"

Hi,

Talk with the tech today at Nissan regarding an SRS light. Since I got the culprit, figured I start a new thread.

"Airbag Diagnostic Unit Sensor No communication Internal Open Circuit"

The airbag SRS light is always on / solid red, never blinks. Anyone ever run into the above? Car was fine before winter. Nissan checked to make sure all the wires were fine. Can these just... go? car only has 18K miles.

I actually just fixed it. lol.

Nissan was going to charge me 1,500 for a new SRS module + labor. It was just a bad fuse. The Air Bag fuse was fine, it was the fuse that says "Elect Parts" fuse that was bad.

I have the FSM for SRS Diagnostics. First step is to plug in Consult. Second step is a preliminary check. A: Check Battery, B: Check Fuses.

I called Nissan and ripped them a new one. Unbelievable. I guess it recently changed Names and management. F'ers also took a screw driver to my plastic trim pieces and left scratches.

How hard is it to follow a damn pin point test? 9 times out of 10 I have never been led wrong by following the pin point test when diagnosing codes, etc.

thanks for posting this.... Where are these fuses you mentioned? Are they just normal fuses?

They are inside the car, drivers side, lower left kick panel. There is a small cover that can be popped open and there are all the fuses for most of the interior stuff.

Fuses you want to check are Airbag and Elect. Parts. The Elect. Parts one was blown. Had no F'n clue that the SRS module ran on this. They don't exactly have that documented.
