Default Your experience with Nissan Security Plus Warranty

Afternoon!

My Z is 2019 with only 4700 miles, I have 1 year of powertrain left, debating if I want a Nissan Extended Warranty. I've never had one. Chances seem very low I'll have any issues within next 3-4 years.

Just wondering if any of you have Security Plus, and if it seems worth it.

Thanks!

I had the same idea. My drivers seat is being replaced under warranty on Monday. $7048.00.

I have a 2022 370Z NISMO and dont want to pay out of pocket in the future. Going to inquire with the dealer next week

That's a joke, right? A good Sparco seat + mount is $1000. You don't need the on-seat air bag, all that does is break your elbow in a crash.

No, I haven't. Not sure when I should do this? If I get the warranty, I may as well wait for a while. All seems okay?

I'm pretty speechless on this! That's a ton of $$$

Well Nissan Santa Rosa, has online purchasing option. The price varies drastically dealer to dealer. They have the best price so far, about $500-$1000 less than most. Spoke with these guys, apparently they make their profit in the quantity, that's why they don't markup high.

Hi were calling from the Dealer Services Network about your cars extended warranty.

Generally they are not worth it. You may get lucky but odds are with that low mileage per year you won't run into any issues and usually items such as the CSC are a battle to cover because "clutches" are a wear and tear item on most warranties even though they should last the life of the car.

With a few people it never fails. With almost everyone else, it does. And when it fails they'll claim wear&tear and charge you $$$$ to drop the trans and replace the CSC. And the replacement will fail at some point as well. Your best bet for longevity is to buy the ZSpeed CMAK kit with a new clutch/flywheel, and not have to worry about it ever again.

Zspeed CMAK FTW. If you need to fix the part, it will be external and $40 for the piece.

At what point in mileage does this typically fail. I’m not tracking the car, hoping I’d get a bit of mileage. What’s typical aftermarket replacement cost?

It’s going to the dealer tomorrow for the Synchro (revmatch), not working. I’ve tried so much to get this operating, I just know it’s something simple, but…

It's extremely random. My original one never failed up to 60000 miles, but i replaced it anyway because of tracking. It's more of an inherent design flaw with the 370Z. I think they fixed the issue on the 2023 Z.

Edit: I may have had a new one installed due to some warranty work at 25K miles in 2014 (transmission and diff were replaced), but otherwise no OEM failure. I've had the Master fail on me more if anything.

I’m thinking I’m safe for a while, only driving it during summer, and approximately 4000 miles a year. Not tracking either.

Thanks

One guy had the CSC fail literally driving off the dealer lot. Plenty more stories with less than 2000 miles on the car. I got 50K miles on my Z before changing it out to the Z1 kit. That kit was a PITA and I swapped it for the ZSpeed CMAK when I changed out the clutch recently.

After todays experience with dealer service, I have absolutely no desire returning to a dealer for any service! I’d rather my car burst into flames.

An OEM Recaro new driver's seat was installed today under warranty. $7048 and was covered by Nissan.
