If you want to write to the ECU then you will need one of the tuning programs. ECUtek or Uprev. There are others but not nearly as good. As far as reading and logging there are many many applications that do that with a simple ODBII reader and a free or nominal cost application. Then there are ones in the 200-500 range that would do most programing that an average person would need.
