Default Globally, the Roadster is DONE

While the last year of the Roadster for the USA was in 2019, it continued for one more year as a 2020 model in Canada & Australia. Here is an archived page showing the 2020 Roadster in Canada:

https://web.archive.org/web/20190920...ore.VLP.Button

However, it looks like Nissan couldn't even wait for the 2020 model year to conclude to give the Roadster a full year run for 2020 and production on the Roadster has ended early.

I just checked the website for Nissan Canada and the 2020 Roadster has been removed!

https://www.nissan.ca/shopping-tools/build-price.html

Then I also checked the website for Nissan Australia and it's gone from there too:

And soon the 370Z will be removed all together and replaced with the 400Z.

It's sad, but like they say, all good things must come to an end.

The 370Z has had a great run. I'm just glad Nissan decided to carry on the Z name, with what will hopefully be a car that is true to its heritage.
FL 4Motion and gr8-wrx like this.

Considering that roadster tops are failing left and right and the solution most Nissan dealers suggest is a $13K+ replacement of the entire assembly, this isn't surprising.

Does anyone know the roadster sales volume in comparison to the coupe?

Wiki only shows yearly totals.

I was told recently on this forum that it will only be referred to as the Z. No proof one way or the other, just passing on info.

I'm good with it. It's been around a LONG time in today's modern car cycle. The 350Z was only around 8 years in comparison.

Maybe, but if you compare sales to the 350Z, the 370Z didn't do so well. In fact, it got it's a$$ kicked. In 11 years it has sold HALF the number of cars as the 350Z did in 8 years.

My guess is 3 things. 1. The car market has changed. 2&3. During the reign of the 350Z there was no Camaro or Challenger.

Was this never fixed in the latest years? Like if you brought a 2020 Roadster in Canada or Australia, can you still expect a catastrophic failure of the roof? If so, unbelievable.

You forget, when nissan introduced the 370 we were heading into a full on global recession and it stayed that way for almost half of the 370's time on the market, not really many people with the disposable income to purchase a sports car

Debatable. Once you get a Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger up to par with options, not so much.

I got my 2012 for $34,500 when the sticker was almost $38,000. Anyone paying even close to sticker for a Z after 2011 got suckered.

We had a debate about it all many years ago on this forum. Everyone has input, some valid, some not. Yours is totally valid. But I believe it affected all car sales more, not just the Z. And in order of significance, the economy and higher price come after the 3 things I mention, at least IMO.

Ah, yes, sorry, misunderstood you. In that case yep, you are 100% correct. And I would slot it in as reason 4. Global economy would come 5th in my opinion.
