I can understand the original post because the guy is venting!I also feel the same way because this paint is the worst I have ever have seen on any car. This is a brand new car and the paint is basically trash!
After my purchase and unaware of the problems Nissan leaves there customers deal with in the past had I known before hand I wouldn't have even looked at this new Z. If someone stole it tomorrow or it was totaled in an accident I would be tickled to death because I would be rid of it!Overall it is apain in the a$$! I'am not OCD but just like to take care of my car.I drive it all the time!Should I have to pay $700 to have a clear bra on it?Hell no!Every other car I had including corvettes never was the paint as bad as this junk! I do enjoy the car and very satisfied mechanically and with handling but disappointed Nissan put out a paint job that is very poor quality. It is just a car and they come and they go so it was just a lesson for me about nissan!Never again! |

If this apparently pervasive paint problem continues to cause enough aggravation and expense for enough owners, it could lead to a class action lawsuit and maybe payment to owners to defray the cost of frequent paint touch-ups/re-painting or coupons for free body work. I have an '08 CVT Altima coupe and due to presumed difficulties being encountered with that CVT transmission, Nissan recently extended the warranty on the transmission to something like 10 years/100,000 mi. (I don't have their letter in front of me as I write this). In the right circumstance, litigation can bring about a fair remedy and that may eventually happen regarding this paint problem.

Its when the bird sh!t drops on the car!It eats through the clear coat and not just the top coat either. Its eats through deep.Don't know how much clear coat Nissan put on this car so to wet sand will be touchy!Shouldn't have to do this and have had many cars over the years and NEVER had paint as bad as this! Many coats of wax don't help either! My car is black as all my cars have been and this is the worst I have ever seen! |
