Didn't think so....
why did i buy one? I did not purchase the sport package as i am purposefully upgrading all aforementioned parts..

20-40k? what are you referencing, a more upscale car you say? What would make you think i cannot afford what i want. I bought what i wanted and i am upgrading it accordingly.

All these defensive sport package owners. Nice wheels btw, did they come with the sport package?

Didn't think so....

So you bought a Z to just daily drive, congrats.
If you're tracking the car yourself, then there's no need to take Car and Driver's word for it as you have your own experiences on which to base your opinions. Yes, we all know that certain parts of the car are not up to track duty, but the majority of people who buy this car are driving it on public roadways.
Please chime in on my thread here: Who Actually Goes to the Track with Their 370Z?
I just get so tired of people quoting the damn magazines as if they were the bible. I get an e-mail a week from friends that have read the Road & Track article asking me if I've upgraded my brakes yet.

For the record, I have tracked most of my vehicles and motorcycles. I've held racing licenses and I was an instructor for a trackday club. I'm just in a different place in my life now with regards to my time obligations, and I'll have to resign myself to enjoying my Z on the road.
When I refer to hooliganism, I'm not suggesting flagrant disregard for the law, I'm implying that on an empty back road with some good twisties, I enjoy braking late and accelerating early when I can.
I live in Amish country. Minus the occasional buggy, it's a pretty safe environment for some spirited driving.

Have a good day!

^ I agree that the sports package should suffice for those only interested in the occasional spirited runs or few and far between track days. On the other hand, I do feel that the buyer should be aware of the cars track deficiencies. And thankfully people that do plan on tracking the car have that chance to become aware either here on the forums, or from reviews.

I respect that your satisfied with the sport package, to each their own

Thanks!
Yes it makes a big difference. The appearence, ride, brakes etc. I wouldn't have purchased the Z any other way. I just sold my GT500, which I do miss, but the Z is a very nice car and looks and rides even better with the sport package,
