Default I just dont understand this one bit!

I bought the Nismo Z exhaust from the dealership months ago and someone told me that the Nismo exhaust I ordered isn't the same as the one off the factory Nismo Z. They said the factory came with TRUE dual exhaust. But while I was at the dealership today, I looked underneath the Nismo and found out that it has a single muffler with smaller dual tips (maybe with sometime of resonator?) I asked one of the parts guys and he explained what the differences were..and he was saying some crap about how the Nismo parts are actually better than whats found on the stock Nismo. He also said that the Nismo was mainly built for appearance. I do not understand this whole thing since the Nismo has an extra 18 hp! Can someone please explain! I think the dealer was backwards. I just want to know why my NISMO exhaust looks different from the one on the REAL 370z NISMO!

Difference Between Regular 370Z exhaust vs Nismo 370Z exhaust - Nismo 350Z / Nismo 370Z Enthusiast Community

You're confusing yourself and going to dealer don't help. Most dealers don't have the correct info but that's why we are here.

There are TWO Nismo exhaust.

a. Waldina Nismo Exhaust: This is also known as S-Tune package Nismo exhaust. I believe this is NOT a true dual setup. This is a bolt on part for regular Z.

b. Genuine Nimso exhaust: This exhaust is from regular Nismo Z. This is dual exhaust. The exhaust hangers may need to be changed to put this on regular Z.

The nismo z uses a h pipe and I'm pretty sure makes more than 5whp. The nismo s tune is the opposite.

the first problem is buying a Nismo exhaust... why not buy a stainless steel cat-back that was designed for power for the same amount of money or less

At first I wanted to keep the car all Nissan parts..for the warranty. But I have bought parts since than from Stillen, etc..that voided all my warranties..soI don't care as much now.

I didn't go to the dealership for this reason haha.
I wasn't confused until he started talking all this crap. I already know that the s-tune nismo is a catback, but I noticed at the dealership that the Nismo Z only had one muffler..which makes it non-dual..right? I'm so lost but I don't care that much..just curious. They made it seem like my exhaust is better...

The exhaust that came on my Nismo is by no means "true dual". It's an x-pipe with a single muffler.

Your warranty is not totally voided, the dealer has to proof that those parts cause the malfunction or failure.

Check the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

One of the other North NJ guys has an F.I. exhaust, another has a Nismo 370Z, and I'll be getting the Ark exhaust in the next 2 weeks or so. Should be a good comparison.
