I put the Xpel on my Z several years ago. Good investment. Yes the film may tear slightly, but protects the paint. The film is easily replace in a few years. Larger items may still leave a ding.

I got a serious rock chip on my hood within the first couple months of owning the Z and it drove me absolutely nuts, so my first "mod" was covering 1/3 of the hood, full front bumper and front fenders with Xpel Ultimate. It cost a decent amount, but you honestly can't beat the peace of mind it will bring you. Plus (especially nice in the summer months around here), you can just wipe off the bug guts from the clear bra with a wet paper towel.
A lot of guys will say that it's better to do the full hood but I've had no regrets only doing partial. The line is barely noticeable. |
