What RPM do you shift at?

the manual (page 5-19) says shift to 6th gear at 33 mph (53 kmph)

i followed the instruction and drove in the city in 6th gear and they were right, the engine ran fine.

huhh?? 6th gear at 33mph? i gotta check out the manual lol....

usually i let first gear go to 3.5k then second around 3k then sometimes i skip 3rd and go to 4th then 5th at 35-40mph or ill just rev high on 3rd and skip 4th and go to 5th. the speed limit here is 35mph so if i put it in 6th the car feels like its about to die and i feel like im choking the engine.

i went with what they stated in the manual and shift to 6th asap and the engine ran fine. i believe it was running at around 1300 rpm (33mph in 6th gear). my shifting pattern is now 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 6th and i don't change gear when driving from the freeway to the city unless my speed drops below 33 mph

When I hit 70kph ~ 40mph I get into 6th. The engine has enough low end torque and doesn't lug at all. Great for gas mileage also.

i am very happy about the gas mileage and gas tank size of the 370z.
my previous car, the mb c320 had a real small gas tank. I had to visit the gas station every week. i have been driving the 370z for two weeks now and there still gas left for the third week!

Wow...shouida bought a Sentra!

Despite what the manual says I don't think that's good for the motor. I shift where mine is happy.....Usually 4500-5000. 6th only on the highway at 60mph and up..

no matter what car i drive, people will still pass me on the freeway

some years ago, i did drive up to the triple digit speed but those days are behind me.

4500 - 5000 rpm eh?, the manual says i am not supposed to drive over 4000 rpm until the engine has had some mileage.

mine has less than 400 miles on it.
