1. Customer wants non-tech. Nissan doesn't make them anymore. Supply is low + demand is high = higher price/ less room to bargain 2. Reports show more tech models have been sold. Nissan discontinues non-tech version. Dealerships are looking to get rid of the non-tech nismos to get tech versions in. ...Does my rational make sense? |
Nissan at least is giving us something that improves the car again. My old Advan Sports were okay, but they weren't any better than the RE 50's. The S001's were marginally better, but it should have been more aggressive. The Nismo suspension is tight enough to handle a stickier tire without it feeling like it's going to roll over on it's self from the extra stick.
It's gone a long way from the 1st gen Nismo's. 3.91 (3.69 for auto's) gears, Exedy clutch, better tires, recaro seats, GTR brake fluid, hardened brake lines, tech features, and blacked out headlights. Those are genuine improvements, too bad it took the span of 8 years. An optional package that upgraded the oil cooler, differential, and brake pads would have been an easier sell than the outdated nav system. Not sure where that 3463 weight is coming from. Nissan put out the 2018 Nismo 370Z weighs 3339lbs. The Auto was 3389. I still love my 13' Nismo. The color, wheels, body kit, more aggressive suspension tuning, the fact that this is my 2nd Z34, and a rumored new one coming out (whenever or if ever that happens) holds me steadfast. Interesting, fund a review, and I see the Dunlop tires on it http://driving.ca/nissan/370z/review...san-370z-nismo |

These mid life crisis fukk boys buying the Nismo now, don't even know what they bought. |
Nissan has the 2018 on their configurator now. The Nismo comes in magnetic black, with pearl white as a $395 option. No more red or silver. Seriously?

Is that gun metallic a different color than previous years? Looks darker and more blue in the pictures.

Rant over. |

I'm torn between upgrading to a '18 NISMO or just sticking to my plan and purchasing a GTR.. Always loved the NISMO but for that price, I could probably find a used GTR around the same range.

You can still get the red in Canada but not the silver. Might be worth it to have it shipped. I hate it when these companies offer or don't offer something in one region and not the other. I get they are two different countries but were are not talking China here. They are literally next door to each other. Canada doesn't get the Heritage addition which blows my mind considering it is a stripe package and 3 leather bits. Canada didn't get the sport package for years either it went from base to touring although we get it this year. Sorry for the rant but I think things like paint and stripe packages should be available North America wide.

Also, do you think I'd be hard to find a used GTR in good condition? Or would you say the original owners just rag them the f*** out then move on? Thanks for the advice guys! |
