I waited 5 weeks. Granted, I order right before Christmas. So I wasn't expecting it to ship out till 1st or 2nd week of Jan. But it shipped alittle later than that. George was good at responding to me inquires.

Picked up some HFC off FB marketplace. I had a question for you guys. What are these barrels hanging off of them? Resonators?

Im hoping these arent too loud. Any insight is much appreciated.

I had to get the Z fixed at Specialty Z. Here's the back story.

On my way home Thursday, I took surface street vs the freeway. My car broke down along Balboa Blvd, shuddering violently slowing me down, and started to see smoke coming out of my AC vents. It was 3 pm. I got stuck at the center yellow lines between opposing traffic. AAA had trouble finding my location despite clear description of the street I was on and the cross streets. She said she could not locate the cross streets. This took forever. I waited two hours for tow to arrive with cars running fast left and right. One guy stopped and offered help. The tow truck finally showed up and the guy started taking pictures of the car from all sides. Went back to his truck talking to someone on the phone, went back and said he couldn’t do it and to call AAA again. It was too low and left.

My wife arrived and waited in one of the side streets. The car cooled down, so I managed to limp the car safely onto one of the side streets and parked. I popped the hood open and saw dried up blue coolant all over the engine bay. A heater hose broke, releasing coolant all over. More bad luck, it was in a bad cell area, AAA couldn’t make out my location, I was waving down cars for help, just to tell me the city I was in because AAA couldn’t find the city, no one would stop until one good Samaritan stopped by and answered my question. You’re in Granada Hills, he said. I then got cut off while on the phone with AAA. I called again and told her I need a tilt bed tow truck with a ramp for lowered cars. She calls back 30 mins later and said 2 more hours but no guarantee they’ll find anyone, and if they did, I’d have to sign a damage waiver. I called Seb at Specialty Z and he said call this guy in Burbank. It was 6:45 by the time he showed up which is when he said he’d get there. He showed up in his black and chrome polished rig. He had exactly what lowered cars needed, a tilt rig, a solid winch, a race ramp, and a wireless remote controller. My wife and I followed him and got to Simi Valley at 7:30 to drop off the car.

Got home by 8:45. What a night. That was 6 hours without using the restroom. I was lucky on that one.

Heater core hose, coupler, clamps, some other dry/cracked hoses and fluids done. Tranny and diff fluids checked and all good. Thank you Seb!

Original 13 year old heater hoses?

Download the AAA app. no directions needed as it uses your GPS coordinates to locate.

My ‘09 has the original coupler still. I’ve got a metal coupler ready to swap in when I get the motivation to do it… I should do that soon lol

It takes 15 mins. max, no need to drain down the system etc. I just removed the hose from the high side first, dumped all coolant out of it, replaced with metal, burped the system, and topped off.

You're current sitch is a timebomb and if it goes while on the track like in your avatar it's going to turn the track into an ice skating rink for your and others.

Heater hoses should last quite a while. I'll typically check periodically to see if they get pressurized/hard (and ensure they don't "balloon" in anyway) after starting the car and then looking at the coolant reservoir and general condition of the radiator itself.

How many miles were you on? And is the radiator/thermostat the originals as well?

About 125....I rarely check nowadays. Radiator is orig, thermostat might have been replaced, not sure.....I might be confusing it with my G37.

Need replacement every 10 years to be safe as evidenced above.

It blows my mind owners will replace galley gaskets (at substantial cost and time) without even investigating oil pressure values but ignore old belts and hoses.

Removed the crap Godzilla Racing driveshaft for VR60 trans. swap as it threw the weight the local driveshaft shop had to swap in due to receiving it from Godzilla out of balance and with much vibration.

Only a few thousand street miles on it and a U-joint was already shot! Shop installed new non-serviceable joints and it balanced within spec. without needing additional weight.

None too happy about the serviceable joints slinging grease all over the undercarriage.

Contacted Godzilla the 2nd time about the balance issue (they ignored me the first) and told me because I altered it (1st go when replacing the balance weight), I'm out of warranty. I hardly consider that altering, it's the same as replacing wheel weights IMO. They've had every excuse in the book including adjusting non adjustable (per FSM) driveline angle.

Even if I were in warranty, the process is to ship it back to them, which would cost more roundtrip than if they simply reimbursed me for the original balance of $75 which I provided an invoice and before and after balance weight pics. Not to mention downtime. No wonder so many small businesses crumble!!

Also, they did mention other customers are having the same issues.

Installed the Vibra-Technics transmission mount. IMO this is the pinnacle for OE NVH while providing much more rigidity. I can "move" the OE mount on the bench with a finger to its max travel point. It's not blown as both in my possession behave the same, it's just a useless noodle. The new mount requires me to lean in much body weight to move it a quarter of an inch!!!

I could also grab trans. tail shaft and move it with one arm while installed in the car, that's no more with the new! I had much fore/aft movement during downshifts and throttle transitions, all of which are 100% gone with the new mount. The caveat, zero additional NVH over OE!!

I previously tried a Torque Solutions mount which immediately upon startup made the entire interior including the steering wheel vibrate like a massage gun. Couldn't even focus on what was in the rearview mirror. Maybe fine for track dedicated cars but definitely not for spirited street occasional autocross types.
