Getting frustrated with the Z not starting. Been through the entire starter circuit. Checked the brake and clutch switches. Tested a few dozen fuses and a handful of relays. Everything seems to be good. Yet I still just get a loud click when trying to start the car.

Background is I tried installing a Stebel horn. Got it installed and tested and it seemed to work fine. But something was draining because after a few days the horn wasn't blowing normal and the car wouldn't start. Unplugged the horn and car still won't start.

Sounds like it may be the starter. Whack it with a hammer on the side. If it starts, you have a dead spot in the starter and will need to replace it.

^^^ this. "Whack it with a hammer" is my stock go-to when normal troubleshooting fails to identify the issue.

If it cant be fixed with a hammer, you got yourself an electrical problem.

but with a caveat.... the magnet is built into the case of the starter. If you whack it too hard, you'll crack the magnet and then you WILL have to replace the starter.... been there, done that.....

(but not on the Z)

I've got a 20 lb sledge that I use to split logs. Should do the trick.
