Took the car to downtown Toronto! The drive in the morning was amazing as usual, no traffic on a Sunday morning at 7 am, as expected. Hit the DVP and enjoyed the back roads before getting to Bloor and Yonge.

Man the weather was chilly down there, the damn corridor causes some serious wind and the lake does not help. Anyway, the drive back was amazing, weather was 22 degree, windows down and I was flying on the 401 west bound. There was a girl who had a black 370z, we merged onto the highway together, but we didn't stick together for long, I had a heavy foot that day.

Nice, next time I organize a meet, come on out. You do any type of paint protection for the car? AKA have you used a polished with a good polish to remove any swirls?

I didn't want to spend the $ on it and I'm so glad I did. SoulFunction subframe brace and FI exhaust make jacking from the front and rear points difficult. Now the Z goes on the Quickjack every time I'm doing something that doesnt involve me sitting in the driver seat.

I'm sure it's more than paid for itself in labor savings already.

That and medical.. had a HF jackstand fail on me when I was under the car. Never moved faster in my life. Swore then and there I'd find a better way, and I did.

Yep. One of my jack stands almost failed on me too. I have a neighbor who was putting on a new motor, on 4 jackstands and I couldnt help but cringe when he was under the car. Those things looks so flimsy.
But I still use jackstands as a backup to the qj.

Where do you place them?

In the rear, I put them under the corners of the subframe along the diff. In the front, i put one at the jack point dimple. Of course, extend the jack stands close to those points as possible. Probably not 100% backup, but better than nothing.

FWIW, I really like my Esco jack stands. I am comfortable under those and I am pretty skittish as a fat man that cant move to fast. :icon17:

I heard good things about those. But in my situation, I dont think jackstands are prudent. My asphalt floor looks like its been hit with a bunch of meteors from all the sunken wheels and steel from floorjacks and stands.. :icon14:
