It's not good for you to run the tank meter completely empty. The sensor that averages the amount of gas you have tells you when you need to fill up.

It's not good for you to run the tank meter completely empty. The sensor that averages the amount of gas you have tells you when you need to fill up. If you constantly fill up with you have little to no gas left, the sensor will tell you to fill up sooner (even if you have a decent sum of gas in the tank) as to when you are low on gas.
