Have you checked the dip-stick to make sure the engine oil is at capacity.
Even short-filling by one litre can affect the speed with which the temps rise and what temp it settles at. If you drained the cooler as well, you may find the oil level is down the dip-stick a little and that would explain why heat builds quicker. Steady-state freeway driving is not going to show much discrepancy whereas suburban commute will keep heat in the engine bay and contribute to elevated temps unlike freeway driving where you have good airflow. |
