Need help.. I've read all about steering lock isues.please help

just a pipe rack car wash basically a four pole with spray nozzles. I got car back , the car started on its own with no one in it in the shop , without clutch in.they was saying steering lock cause it wouldn't start , till it started on its own they told me it wouldn't after I had started like 12 times and heard and felt steering lock , lock and unlock , so I had go back down there and get them on the same page told them we are not replacing the steering lock . we are starting where the water came in (around the wiring harness the cavity filled up and water ran down the harness to the bcm and filled it up with water)and what is right there , the bcm , replaced bcm and everything works now , except the hatch will not open ,may have fried the trunk lift assist, but I drove it to work and it was fine till I stopped and got out car and came back and key light came on ill be pulling the fuse in morning before I leave work.
