Bored of the Z hell no!

SOUTHZZ 10-28-2016 12:31 PM

Bored?Well,not really.
I've been a Z guy since owning a 240(Datsun)Z.
Had a 350 for quite some time.
With all my cars incl my present Z34,I upgraded them.
Both in performance and looks. I did full carbon fiber stuff on
my Z33. Doing some of the same things on the 34.
Yes,the styling is getting a bit dated. Adding carbon just
gives the car a more high-tech a richer look.
Got most of my parts from ZCF which is run by Z guys.

240se 10-28-2016 12:49 PM

I think the styling of the Z34 will make it a classic. The lines and proportions are just right.

After 2 years I like it more than when I bought it. The only time I'm bored is when stuck in traffic.

Don't drive mine enough to get tired of it...

DeliriousClam 10-28-2016 01:31 PM

When I get bored of it, I drive my '98 Camry around for a few days so the 370 feels like a rocket once again

nis350 10-28-2016 04:42 PM

The maintenance/repairs of the 911 (996 & 997.1) can exceed the cost of an used Z easily.

Yup. When I did I ditched it for a 911. NEVER got bored of that!

Alas, I was finally forced into a more practical car before my big move cross-country and I had put a ton of miles on the 911. It is in someone else's care now but I plan to be back on the horse in two years either with an R8 or Cayman GTS. Once you go big you don't go back.

It looks funny when you're also having 3 wheels contacting the ground. Lol

Tigger and I had a bit of a wild run trying to get into his cabin lol.

On another note, if you're bored of it drive faster. Duh.

ur Z run aftermarket suspension? my Z has barely any rattles even after 7yrs. on occasion i get the hatch area rattle but it could be tools i have in the trunk liner. it only happens on occasion so hasnt bothered me.

Who said anything about maintenance costs? The question is, are you bored?

If the answer is no then you have the perfect car for you. If the answer is yes, go get something else. :driving:

Car buying can be addictive. Since 2007, I have had, in order, a 2003 Toyota Celica, a 2004 RX8, a 2006 370Z, a 2010 Mazda Miata, a 2013 370z, a 2013 Genesis Coupe and now a 2014 370z.

I am making a hard attempt to quit, resist looking at car ads and articles, Auto Trader, and each day is tough. Love my car but still can't resist thinking corvette or q60 coupe etc, etc.

I totally understand what you are going through. I have had 4 different Miatas, some FIs, Mazdaspeed 3, WRX, and a Z4 in the last 7-8 years. I picked up a 2014 370z touring with the sport package. I am older now and I love all the extras and comfort with this Z. I just recently sold my 2012 Miata PRHT and got a 2013 Boxster S. I just love convertibles. Being in CA I can drive the convertible pretty much all year long. Just something I learned the it was very difficult to find a Prosche with manual transmission. I looked long and hard before I found my Boxster S with a 6 sp manual.

I've had my 370z for about 7 months now and I still love it. Coming from a 450+ whp STI, to this car, I thought I'd get bored. But it's just such a nice car overall. Gonna suck storing it for the winter :(

I'm bored of people saying that they're bored of this car when they haven't even driven it anywhere close to the limit.

/Angelo350Z/ 11-07-2016 09:01 AM

I'll never get bored with the Z. It's not the fastest or lightest, but it has the perfect ingredients for a fun car. With RWD and over 330 horsepower stock, the Z is plenty of fun for me. I drove a friend's 997 911 Turbo S in the city a few years back, and that car wasn't any more fun than my old 350Z. Sure, it was a superior car, but when you're driving 50 kilometers an hour through Frankfurt, nothing is fun. Those who find the Z boring are either world-class racing drivers who need something more aggressive, or are not taking full advantage of the car's full potential. Suspension mods alone bring the Z, or any car for that matter, a few notches up in the fun factor.

This, doing an HPDE event and your and your still bored, check your pulse because you might be dead. Doing 85 in a corner and managing the outward slip is very exciting as you power out of a turn.

You're in Chi-town. Just give your Z to phunk for the winter, and let him work on it.
