I had several rock chips on hood and bumper. I still have one (very) small rock chip on each rear quarter panel. Started collecting rock chips within days after taking delivery. I put curb rash on the passenger side rear wheel about 6 months after delivery. Bought car in Jan 2009.

Had front bumper replaced and hood repainted. Replaced rear wheel. The paint on this car is extremely delicate. It is EXTREMELY delicate -- feels almost like a manufacturer defect.

1. Two rock chips on hood. Barely noticeable if your eyesight not 20/20.

2. Pulled into an empty parking in front of Starbucks. Drove car too much into parking, and scraped the lower plastic bumper thingy. When I pulled car out, i could hear the scraping noise. Luckily, that platic thingy is flexible so no damage there. It didn't hit the bottom color-coded bumper. phew!!!

3. Im getting a clear bra for front bottom bumper and 18inch hood this weekend.

After 4 months of ownership an electrical connector from a motor home detached crossed lanes and tagged my hood........ 3 small dimples in the hood that is now for sale.

This all makes me afraid to do anything but semi-rural, local driving in my Z. I have a private parking carport at my office, a garage at home and a safe and easy drive to work. I have clear bra and a trusted body shop guy "on call." I guess after a few years the Z will become like the Miata I've owned for 14 years now. It too is beautiful but since it's older and worth so much less, it feels like a comfortable pair of prized old loafers when I drive it. I guess, in due time, the Z will also get to that position. In the meantime, I continue to be nervous in the Z for fear that some careless fool will be talking on his/her cell phone and wreck into me, etc. Guess life's not perfect.

This happened to me about 2 weeks after getting the car, just that it did not hit the bumper, it was the hood on the passenger side. Left a good 2-3 feet "fingerprint"which mostly was buffed out. Only left 2 fine hairlike scratches. But first blemish was a rock chip on the front bumper the next day i got the car. Really this paint sucks....

Two weeks in and my wife or son pulled up too close at a store and scratched lower passenger underside of front bumper! It's pretty much out of site, just gonna touch up myself since it is so far down and under and outa sight! Also, we have to approach and enter our front driveway at a steep angle to keep from rubbing the front spoiler, sucks but we still love this car!!!!!

Small rock chips on the bumper and hood, then finally a BB-sized chip on the fender right behind the passenger headlight. Those suck but they're fairly minor.

Then about a month ago it was POURING rain and while driving down a residential street I was going around someone coming the other way and a puddle put my FR into a curb. Minor curb rash about 100deg around the very outside of the wheel. Still need to get it repaired

I got some rock chips on the front bumper within the first 200 miles. But the biggest blemish was done the freaking stealership when they put the two big holes in the front bumper.

I'm still mad and dealing with Nissan Co. because of their engineers/techs stupidy in writing for the installation of the front plate.

Are you sure you didn't drop the clay bar and caught some sand/dirt? I clay my 350 a few times a never had any problems.

I will do my 370 later during the Summer, so I will be careful...
