I don't think you can upshift to 7th at that speed. My 7AT prevents upshifts until rpm reaches 2k or thereabouts (gear dependent). I can't get 7th gear until I'm at 48 mph (77kph).
If the road is straight with low traffic and few stops, I'd shift up to 6th for sure. With traffic and/or stop lights, I'd stop at fifth. However, you could cruise noisily in 2nd gear if you wanted.

I don't see a problem. On my DSG car I usually cruise around 2k rpm range while it does have another gear dat puts it in 1.5k. IMHO, too low rpm. I feel like a sitting duck in traffic.

Why do these types of threads even exist?
Sorry, but if you don't have the common sense to know when to shift gears or what gear to be in in a certain situation, then you shouldn't be driving a stick, and if you have an Auto, leave the damn thing in automatic mode. Obviously, the car is smarter than you. I swear, it's like a bunch of 7 year old kids on here posting these silly questions. I'll put it to you simple... If you want max efficiency, accelerate slow, shift low without bogging the engine and keep the rpms as low as possible, in the highest gear possible, no matter what speed you're going. If you want max performance, ring that bi*ch out to redline in every gear.
