I have a 09 but I have no problems with the noise.

but it WAS a demo car so maybe the dealership already fixed it

The problem is the ECM. There doesn't seem to be any official notification going out like a TSB, but they definitely have a fix for the G37....I just had mine fixed a few weeks ago. I had taken the car in twice before for the problem and they couldn't diagnose it. When I heard there was an official fix, I called the dealer and told him I understood there was a fix and asked him to investigate. Several weeks later he met with the regional rep and they agreed to order me the part and called me to install it. I would assume Nissan also has the fix ready to go, but you're going to have to pursue it..I would start with the dealer first, then go to Consumer Affairs if that doesn't work.

Default So...is this normal??

I had my ECM replaced and still experienced the whine. Did a little further reading and did a little testing and realized it's the THROTTLE BODIES! Here is how you can tell if the noise is coming from your throttle bodies or ECM.
  1. Pop your hood.
  2. Put the car in Neutral.
  3. Set ignition to ON.
  4. Roll your windows down.
  5. At this point...it should be silent.
  6. Now put the car into gear. I usually go with 2nd. You should hear the whine start right away.
  7. Now put your ear near each throttle body and confirm. I could hear each throttle body whining.

I had my service manager convinced it was the ECM...and it turns out that wasn't the problem. Here is a video of the noise well. Car is in gear.

I'm confused. My car makes the noise when I do the above. The link says TB noise, the vid says ECU noise.

Which problem do I have? Thanks.
