Good first projects for a beginner

Your first week behind the wheel, and your DIY chops, will likely dictate your first project. For me, it was a swap of the factory audio head-unit, followed by sound-deadening

Your first week behind the wheel, and your DIY chops, will likely dictate your first project.

For me, it was a swap of the factory audio head-unit, followed by sound-deadening the trunk.

Exhaust work is way out of my league, but I'm currently working towards replacing the anemic-sounding stock exhaust.

So far, I find the Z has more than enough power to keep me entertained, so upping torque is something I will likely leave until much later, if ever.

As has been said, it's all about your personal priorities.

Deadening the trunk? Only? Why not all the wheel wells and all that jazz

The rear area is where most of the road noise comes from. The rear wheel wells are usually considered part of the job. The rear is also pretty easy to access - not so much the doors, &c.

Ah I get it, would it not make much of a difference to do all of them basically?

The hatch and wheelwells are easy, and make a big difference if you do it right. The doors will help too, but it's more of a PITA to get in there. The hatch is a day's work and you notice a difference immediately. DIY is really the only way to go since the material is cheap, but labor would add up.

It's a sticky, dude. Read threads before making new ones. This forum has been around long enough to already have the answers to your questions. We don't need a new thread for each instance of a new member asking an old question.

It's the second sticky in the general discussion forum. It's pretty hard to miss.

If you go to google and add site:the370z.com to your search, it'll work better than the search feature here.

Since the door has been kicked open, I'm gonna add my .02

Your first mod: Sign the title over to me, and deliver the car and keys to me in Kansas....

if you can't master the simple function of reading through threads, using the forum based search or Google search, you are too ignorant to own this car.

I don't much care if you find this offensive or not, but really, the threads you have started are inane and juvenile. Every thread topic has been started and discussed many years ago, some of them get resurrected from the dead when someone adds to them, usually new guys that can't read. I'm not sure, but I think I've only started a couple of threads, and I think one of them was in the 'new to the forum' section and I'll probably start a 'build' thread at some point.

IMHO, you are skating really close to having one of the admins 'temp ban' you, just to teach you a lesson. I'm not one of the OGs here, I've only been here since 2013, but I know enough to be smart when I post....
