There's NOTHING raw about a Cayman. A Cayman is very dialed in, very predictable, engaging in the most simplified sense of the word. There are extremely rare man against machine moments in the Cayman so to speak, taking away the title of raw in the experience.
The Z is raw because it is dialed in, and mostly predictable, but can get away on you if you're not careful. The Cayman electronics really keep you regulated. You may as well be driving AWD is so computer regulated. But the fact that you can get around corners at such high speeds kind of makes up for the lack of involvement that is provided with the Z. The Z, is a rambunctious, fairly light for its power level vehicle that has muscle car rawness with sports car ability. Just slower than a muscle car and edgier than the finer sports options available. That lack of perfection is what makes a car raw.

Now that I've been driving a lot of higher end cars. It seems the cars that do the most work for you get the highest praise. And then brands than can balance driver involvement with technology like the GT-R get shunned. I don't know WHERE people got the idea the GT-R is soulless. It's incredible. My only issues with the GT-R is size, ride height and feels like you're sitting high. That's why now, after experiencing it I'm not sure I'd buy it, though the power and precision are addicting.
My favorite 911 is the GT-S because the GT-3 is boring on regular roads without breaking laws. If I was tracking a lot. Then I'd take the GT-3. But all you will hear about is the GT-3. Also the GT-S 911, I found more fun to drive than the Cayman S. I do like the GT-3 LOOKS over all the other 911's though.

There is a small minority of reviewers that are starting to come around to the fact that with all the electronics going in to performance cars these days it is taking away from the driving experience and that cars like the 370Z are part of a dieing breed and very special in their own right

That torque kicks in at a much lower RPM on the GT-S over the GT-3. So you get more response out the engine in low speed driving. In my opinion, the GT-S is the most driver focused 911. So whoever bought that car, chose well...

I tried to convince my friend to get a 370z, he ended up with a Cayman S and dam is it nice. It sounds better than my car, shifts better. I still like how the Z look more but he ordered a crazy wing, suspension and expensive wheels. We'll see how it turns out. Dam that inline 6 or whatever sounds so much better than the Z at WOT.

Are you comparing to your Z's stock exhaust? A Prius sounds better than a Z stock. Put an HKS Hi-Power, or ArmyTrix catback on your Z and then compare.

Regarding sound, are you talking about the sound from the inside of the car?

It's a flat six. No inline for Porsche.

Why bash the Beetle? As far as I'm concerned it's the best car to come out of Germany. Actually one of the best cars to come from any country. I'm assuming you are referring to the original Beetle.

What is there to like of Hitlers creation? ...lol Slow piece of junk...
"The need for this kind of car, and its functional objectives, was formulated by the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, who wanted a cheap, simple car to be mass-produced for his country's new road network. Hitler contracted Ferdinand Porsche in 1934 to design and build it.[12] Porsche and his team took until 1938 to finalize the design. "
