it's because there hasn't been any major updates to the 370z since it's inception. It's old news now. Nissan left the car to die a slow death

Whatever others claim about my Z, I like its rareness, appearance, and performance. And also many people who do not read so-called critic's articles say my Z is just fantastic.

I hope this rareness of Z keeps going.

Thanks for using the word rare!!!

i was talking to this random guy and he was saying how little trunk space the car has.

i said what does it matter when it carves corners like a champ? i don't care for passengers or hauling large amount of equipment. i did mention play tetris before taking on a lot of baggage... it helps lol

Default Comparisons!

All of you have much more knowledge on this than I do. There are soooo many Mustangs and Cameros , not "rare" at all. I do know this....I really like my car!

i can pack $275 of groceries into my Z. Soft luggage is no problem. The Z storage is perfect for a couple. It can use a strategic dual cup holder. As only one person can have a big gulp lol.

I don't get the trunk space complaint either. Yes it's shallow, but I just went to North Carolina with my wife and managed to pack all of our travel belongings in the car. Yes I had to reconfigure some stuff to get it all in, but in a sports car that's pretty damn impressive to me.

Just reading some of the comments and I agree rare! I was looking at the thread about production numbers. If that is accurate only 1200ish 370z's are made for the US a year. Was looking at a comment from a guy on YouTube that has neither car but was trashing the Z because he see's Genesis's all over and no Z's. Well when you make 110,000 Genesis's and only 1200 Z's one would think you wouldn't see as many Z's. If that thread and link are correct there is exactly 16 cars like mine.

don't forget why they don't produce that many 370Zs, demand. the 370z just doesn't sell. that's why it's one of the most overlooked cars. it's a good car, but there are many other cars out there that are better in the price range.

apparently, a Genesis is one of them, since according to you, it outsells the Z 10 to 1

When I started looking for cars the 370z was not on my list. As I started to nail down what I actually wanted in a car the Z came in to the picture. I actually dont like the looks of the 350z (I think its the hatch line that bothers me, haha) , I love the 300 and the old 280z's and such though. I didn't want a back seat or a convertible so that really narrowed it down (sports cars don't need a back seat in my mind). Then I got to comparing how much car I could get for the money and nothing was even close to the Z. A similar Porsch Caymon would cost $10-$15k more and would be way more expensive to modify. The Z4M is in the same boat, and both of those cars don't have the "cockpit" feel of the Z. When it came down to it the Z was an easy choice.

i'm just a realist being unbiased and not being a fanboy. so no matter how many cars i have on my "list", you're going to disagree and still put the Z above all. so to end this, the 370z is god's gift to human kind. the end all be all of all cars.

I am a realist also. I looked at R/T's & Mustangs before buying my Z. I have owned numerous Camaro's/Trans Am's/Mustangs. You are the 1 running around here in this & other threads basically bashing the Z. What do you drive? Or do you have a DL yet? The thing I notice a lot is this......

People always want to compare the Z to say a Mustang (GT350R) or Camaro (ZL1) or a damn Corvette or Porsche.....that is all fine and good. When they do this it's always the hot rod version of said car that normally is well over what a Z costs. The only car I have seen compared to the Z is the Genesis that really is in it's price range & comparable but in my book is not a better sports car. Also to me doesn't look sexy like a Z. Back to my point here. All fine and dandy to compare the Z to the other cars mentioned but you have to use the models that actually sit in the Z's price range. Use the base Mustang GT & not the GT350 that starts at $48k if your lucky. I can easily take the $34K I spent on my 370z & add $15kish into it and make it run with about anything. Most of you guys that come here to bash the Z do so out of spite because you can't afford anything like it. Your stuck in Mom's basement working at McDonalds driving what ever $800 car you could afford or the 1 Dad gave you. I don't need to justify my purchase. I made the choice & I had my choice. All I am saying is compare apples to apples. Sure I have a list of dream cars that I would choose over my Z but Ferrari's & GT-R's aren't cheap or practical for me & 71' Firebird Formula's & Z-28's aren't growing on trees

I seriously doubt it's that other cars are "better".

What you need to understand is the Z is competing against NON-COMPETITIVE cars. When compared to the muscle 3. 4 seats and a trunk give those cars a higher comfort & convenience factor. Seats that are reclineable & not fixed up a firewall. Higher speaker count for a more robust sound system. Sunroof in some cases and in some cars... Even the high performance tires have all seasons.

Muscle cars this generation are getting closer to the sports car feel but last generation. The Z focused on things the muscle 3 just couldn't give the true enthusiast.
But sales of the Z and related cars prove how small the true enthusiast market is...

The Z focuses on perfectly weight balanced steering, engaging seating position, proper body position, proper armrest to shifter placement, proper knee support, proper center of gravity, getting a balanced highly driver centric & ergonomic package for the senses.

The Z just pays attention to driver engagement qualities way higher than muscle. I can't fathom how so many members can drive 15,000+ miles in a Z and go to a Mustang as a performance alternative and accept the huge deficit in how your body sits in a car and give up that low COG connectivity that can only be had from the Z, toyobaru, miata, and then cars double it's price. And the Z doesn't make you lose power to achieve it. Is it as fast as a v8 mustang? Not in the least. But does a mustang come close to driver connectivity of the Z? Not even a little bit.

At the end... It's the trade off all "true enthusiasts" make as a sacrifice for driver connectivity. Not many people will sacrifice $30,000+ for a totally one purpose driver enjoyment vehicle. Most wait for us enthusiasts to buy the car and enjoy it while the average Joe who wants to look like us waits for us to trade in our cars to buy it cheap and play the part.

You can make the practical argument to your wife in a Mustang. That won't hold in the Z. So mustangs sell more. It's that simple.

The Z... To a "true performance driver" will be the better car, unless he has money for a new Cayman. That said... The Z market is tiny.... As is other true sports cars
