Zipper 104 will become famous soon enough
Default V1 running YaV1

V1 paired to an Android phone over BT running YaV1. Period.

My own setup is a V1 on a Blendmount, powered by a pass thru Invisicord paired over BT on Valentine's Android dongle to a cheap, unlocked LG Realm running VaV1 sitting on a Garmin vent mount.

Hey Zipper104. Are radar detectors legal on the 'wet' coast of Canada? In the Socialist Federation of Ontario, radar detectors are a BIG no no.

I have to agree with Zipper104, even though I have not tried the V1 in any form I have been doing some of my own testing with 9500ix and escort max 2. While they are great, they don't show the direction, which helps a lot.

Question to Zipper 104, does the android phone paired with V1 need to be connected to a phone Internet network or does it just use the software on the phone and gps?

The v1 is known for beeping all the time, that's why you pair it with the phone which will quiet it down to the level of the gps enabled escort radars, or maybe better. I don't have first hand experience with V1

Escort Redline has paid for itself so many times.

Can be chatty but very very sensitive. I turn off x band as no one uses it here in oklahoma.

Default Radar Detector Recommendations

As part of the discussion, I also used redline for a few weeks, it's very sensitive as Blighter said. But the K band is constantly lit up, so it beeped all the time for me. Same happens with other escort radars but if I drove through the same place a few times it would remember to mute itself out because of GPS.

I wouldn't want to really mute out all of K band because some cops still use it, but I pretty much ignore all K band alerts anyway. Don't know if that's the right thing to do though haha

Have you been talking to my wife? On a recent road trip, she especially enjoyed the drives through VA where I unhooked the radar detector that, incidentally, she gave me for Christmas several years back.

Despite her complaining about it on the trip, she asked me if I would like a newer model this Christmas

I have the escort 9500 with gps and really like the feature of turning off known false alarms. I find it to be excellent overall. I've never used a V1, but it is also highly rated. Interestingly enough, Escort is coming out with a new design, Max 360, that includes directional arrows and a guarantee that they will pay your speeding ticket from radar or laser.
