Yea i didn't think about that. I'm not a fan of the orange. I wonder if it's easy to change led bulb.

LOL this reminds me of the G35 heated seats fiasco when it first came out. Rumors swirled that all the wiring and such for the heated seats were in all the leather seat models and all you needed was to install the switches and connect it up. It turned out to be false and I'm not saying that's the same thing here with the kick plates, but this reminded me of the million post thread on that topic.

I bet anything the wires are not there?
When I bought my Mazda6 I did not order it with illuminated door sills.
I ordered them later & had dealer install them. Nope no wires & cost much more later!
I was sure this time when I ordered my Z that I'm getting factory sills installed.

I'd love to see a picture of the illuminated Z in a dark surrounding.

Agreed. I can't believe they went with the "plastic" It looks very cheap. I think at least could have put a silver emblem like the 350Z. The illuminated ones arent bad.

I think they look good, but again I think it depends on the color of the car. Just not sure how an amber light will play out on a silver car, ya know?

I dunno... when pre-ordering the 350Z, there was the option of aluminum kick plates. We didn't really have a picture of the production product, so we went by the concept. IIRC, it was all aluminum in its glory. Well, we later ended up with flat aluminum with double stick adhesive to plastic.

The Z I looked at today didn't have the illuminated kick plates, so the regular one looked fine to me. It scuffs pretty easily... I had an OCD attack and started wiping the muddy scuff marks off the kick plate, and the sales guy was

Anyhow, it appears the Z I may end up ordering will come with these fancy kick plates and other accessories... knowing me, I already plan to change the illumination to white.

Even though I'd strip the car eventually, I wouldn't mind getting these for $150. It might even help your idiot passanger realize s/he shouldn't bump his shoes while getting in the car.

Didn't get the kickplates right off but I may convert later on down the road.

I never thought about the bulb replacement.

I think that whenever I do a deal I will say- I would like something in writing so that if and when the kickplate bulb burns out- I will pay for the bulb but it will be installed by the dealer for FREE- like anything- doesn't hurt to ask- never know they may say okay!

Sad, the bulb should be a LED. If it's not, then yeah, the bulb will eventually burn out and replacing it would require the sticky tape. But if it IS a LED, then you don't have to worry about replacing the bulb. Those usually have a 10,000 hour life span. (That's pretty much the life of the car considering you'll never have the door open 10,000 hours.)
