Question Engine Tuning vs. Road Course (HPDE)

Morning all,

Things to consider:
- I run road courses (HPDE)
- High RPM for extended periods
- Have oil cooler and never hit limp mode

Question:Will adding a tune (ECUTEK) have any bearing on the temperatures and reliability of the engine under extreme conditions?

For reference: my Avg RPM for 30 min was 5,500rpm.

Most people mention lower temps by roughly 10 degrees on a track, and seeing as how the car will be tuned for the endurance it definitely wont hurt

In short, no. More maintenance/fluid changes will serve you better.

Great to know... especially with lower temps post-tune.

I am intrigued by this...

When tuning you can adjust the fan table so that your fans go to 100% sooner, that will slow down how fast the car gets hot.
