The guy was not pushy about it at all and it got me thinking, but after the test drive I told him flat out the Z just took it away with the performance. He was not upset, and agreed, but the gen coupe is a solid competitor and at the cheap price it gives you plenty of room to do anything you want.
you got a helluva deal, the Z i was comparing the gen coupe to was fully loaded and it was like 40k.

Yep, with a touring sport z with nav you are looking at 38-40k which is a huge step, but if you just want the power and no luxury you can lower that price easily. Plus I have plans to re-do the seats anyways so I did not want to drop the extra money and then down the road replace or mess with the seats.

This is a perfect car for a professional race car driver like yourself. The fact that you didn't wreck it on the test drive was a definite plus for both you and the salesman... Have fun...See ya!

Hyundai has come a long way. I worked there for a short period a few years ago and witnessed a signifcant effort to leave the reputation of the past behind them and move forward with better products. I am happy that they have improved their product line to the point that they are no longer considered a low cost, disposable car alternative to the other asian OEMs.

Costco had a Genesis coupe on display a few weeks ago and I checked it out for a few minutes. It's a good looking car that looked like it could deliver. Not my complete cup of tea ultimately but I can see why you bought it. Sorry to hear the Nissan dealer jerked you around but congrats on your new car. Enjoy!
