There is no excuse for the green color though.
agreed. when people ask me what kind of car it is. i say "genesis coupe". not hyundai.

they have changed my mind though with the 2 genesis models.

if so that is a great deal.
Early in the year when sales were low and stock was high a lot of us got the base w/sport for between 30500 and 31900. I got mine for 30800.

However with the Genesis if you can get Nav and all the other goodies such as brakes, real diff, suspension (oil cooler?) for 31500 then that is a great deal.

yea, the z i was looking at was the touring plus sport package and they had it marked around 40k. crazy.

not sure if the gen coupe has an oil cooler but i have been reading threads with guys taking them out on track days and havent seen anything with oil temp issues.

The Hyundai folks are actively courting the tuner crowd and factory support and dealer support for mods [wink, wink] should be better than the Nissan. Might not be true if the motors start popping when the wick is turned up, but this engine is well-known in its other guises, and should be fairly reliable.

Anyway, the point is you can make it faster than a stock Z without spending huge amounts, so if straight-line performance is your bag, it might be a pretty good buy.

For my own sake, I appreciate the racing heritage and strong sports car roots of the Z, and frankly I just think it looks much better. But that is my choice, and in no way says that your choice was bad.

Enjoy your new ride!

THE POINT - is that I find it funny you were looking at a touring + sport lol... do you wanna tour? do you wanna sport? hahaha... Honestly.. the base Z + sports is all you really need... THE ONLY THING I REGRET about the base is the lack of heated seats... its a sports car.. you are not going to be changing the seat positions... you dont need bluetooth- ******* drive the car not have a car-ference... seriously... you get a Z cus you want a car that makes you grin wider than the turn you just took 3x faster than the car behind you... Good luck w/ the genisis... I would have gotten the 2.0T if I were about to track it... And Im sorry to say this but the fact of the matter is... a Z is more of a track car than a genisis... you will end up spending FAR more than an oil cooler in your geni if you wanna track it...

heh, settle down bud, you just described personal preference, maybe what you like isn't what he likes? And he has a better car for the money (Besides power) than you do. Thats why you cant compare your car to his. You have to compare a loaded 370z with his loaded genesis. I dont care if you paid 10k less than him, its not the same if you don't have the same options.

I would personally not mind getting the Genesis coupe. I did consider it and strongly thought about purchasing it so that I would have 10k more in my bank.

in the long run I chose against it because the name "Hyundai" has not become known for reliability "yet". They are on the right road, and They will probably surpass many of the best brands out there soon, but until it happens....

good luck in your new car!

I traded my 350z for a Genesis Coupe V6 and after about 6 months I traded the Genesis in for my 370. It's definitely a nice car for the money, but as time went on, I became more and more disappointed in the performance of the Gen. Not that the performance is bad, but I guess I was just expecting more. Having driven both, the Z betters the Genesis in pretty much every performance metric. That being said, the Genesis does have a lot of potential, so congrats on the purchase.

agreed.

and lets not forget, i love the 370. would have bought it if the guy could make the numbers work like he had said previously. i like the extra 25 HP and the way it can rip around corners. its a great car.

but I dont love it 10k more then the gen coupe. and lets not forget Hyundai's 10 year powertrain warranty.

that was the point. few things i like about the gen coupe over the Z and a few things i like about the Z over the gen coupe but in the end the price difference was to much for what really is a similar car in many ways.

not a terrible car, but I still confuse them with recent model tiburons... That and they're fat pigs, regardless of how much power they make, reminds me of the challenger. Good deal though.

I looked at the Genesis as well. Congrats on your new car, I don't mean to say your decision is bad. I would rather spend 10k more for a Z with the same options tho.
