I know there is lots of discussion regarding the harsh engine vibration in high rpm, however this is regarding a rattle that is occuring from 5000rpm.

Its coming from the dash somewhere and is caused by the vibration from engine in the high rpms.

Does anyone else have this problem? It's definatly a rattle/noise seperate from the engine harshness/vibration

Very upsetting when you hear these noises in a 2 week new car and paying close to $70KAUS for it

P.s I also have the rear bar buzz/rattle too!

Attn MODS - Is it possible to create a new poll for me - maybe titled "What rattle do you have? please vote" and the options from
Dash, Shifter, Rear steel bar, rear hatch area, other, etc

Thinking its good data in the hope that it can be brought to nissans attention and they can do something about it. Maybe I'm being a bit optimistic

Thanks

I'm having the same problem since I had my FI cat-back installed. Between 2500-3000 RPM (which is the point where the exhaust is the loudest), I often get a bad rattle coming from the dash. I'm going to see if I can get someone to fix it, as it is embarrassing.

I know what you mean about it being embarrassing, makes you not want to have any passengers.

I know the vibration from engine does vary from car to car, having read various posts here. Looks like I have one of the bad ones as the excessive vibration is creating the rattle.

I get that too. Then it occurred to me that it's the change I keep in my storage compartment.

If it's really an issue, it's not very difficult to take the center bit out and look for possible sources.

Yep, even though our beaZts are reliable in most areas (engine, tranny, cooling system, electrical system, etc.), it definitely seems that they "evolved" from rattle snakes! There's always something squeaking and/or rattling and/or clicking and/or little annoying noises from SOME area of the car!

Not sure about Nissan but Mazda has a 6 month "thing" where they locate and fix any rattles, take it back to dealer. 2 week old car rattling is BS should never bloody welll happen.
