On a very smooth road going 30-40mph (not frequently) I can hear a faint high pitch sound from the rear, can't tell if it corellates with throttle - if it does, and it gets louder over time, then it's likley the rear diff. If not, then it can be the fuel pump. It can also be wind noise, do you notice it at certain speeds? Bearings tend to make a growling noise.

People say this, but in my experience they make a "warbling" whine to a shrill whine that is load-dependent, modified by accel/decel and loading/unloading in corners.

I noticed a noise after I put my head unit in. I think it is some interference with the antenna or something. Can't really tell once the car is running.

I have ridden in one 370Z, and driven a few. I have no clue what you guys are talking about and I have heard plenty of wheel-bearings/diffs that are a bit "off". I heard nothing of the sort in any of the 370'z.

i know what sarah is saying. it's a very audible high pitch sound. like when you turn on a old CRT TV. the car i test drove first had it and i was joking about it to the sales guy. he said he couldn't hear it. it might be because he was sitting in the passenger seat and the noise is audible in certain areas in the car.

the car i bought did not have this sound when i test drove it...and to this day does not have it. i think there was a TSB out for this. do a search.

haven't heard it yet, but my droid has a frequency analyzer app downloaded on it. good way to check it out/prove it to the dealer if necessary.

You have a 2011 so you shouldn't ever encounter it.

those app version spectro-analyzers suck. i know cause i have one in my droidx and it's only sort of okay. it will most likely not detect.

Yep. It only affects some of the '09s and maybe a few '10s. Mine had it bad.

Ill throw my .02 in. G37 owners (no shock there) have a similar problem. I have it in my car, an 09 G37x. It sounds like its comming through the speakers. I can only tell when the radio is off. It doest happen at idle, but a tiny bit of gas gets it to make the CRT Monitor type sound. Sound dosent really change pitch or tone with any higher rpms other than idle.

Sucks but i dont have the energy to fight with Infiniti.

..anyone heard this before. Is this a factory problem? Thanks in advance.

btw...i put in stillen generation 3 intakes and she sounds real throaty now..and a little faster...2nd gear burns nice rubber when I bang it down and take off.
Wow you can hear my mother-in-Law in DC? I don't think nissan has enough sound deadening to fix her screaching high pitched noise.
