I gave up correcting people years ago with the Z (04 350, Lemans Sunset) and usually answered "you sir / ma'am have a good eye for cars...", I've found people, in general, don't like to be corrected, I just agree and move on "ya, Stallone was great as the Terminator"; unless safety is involved (ie bomb squad guy" I'm cutting the blue wire", "erm.. red wire")
I once complemented a guy, getting gas, on his well done civic (it happens!) and he was all offended "it's a type R man" and while feeling like saying "wow, and you take it of the museum?" just said "niice...."
So I just figure no one else is going to care if it's really a 370 or a 350 or an ecclipse or a nismo let them go home and say "I saw a Bugatti at the Qwuick-E-Mart"

In the part of San Diego I live, it gets zero attention. Lots of tesla's, couple GTRs, lots of Porsche's. So I'm kinda the low rent guy.

After being PASSED on the freeway with the cruise control set at 74 in a 65. Literally the family car passed me right in front of the cop that we both apparently didn't know was behind me, pulls me over about 10 seconds later. Super nice guy, talked for a bit and then said I'm giving you a warning just bc I can't imagine what insurance would be on a car like this. Said have a good night and was on his way. Whatever, I'll take the compliment. LOL

A cop told me the same thing once. Pretty much let me go on a warning (gave me a no front plate ticket instead), after saying that insurance would probably skyrocket if he gave me the speeding ticket. He also considered the fact that I was 21 at the time.

On a different note, everyone still sure seems to be getting lots of compliments on their Z. When I first got my Z, I used to get lots of them, too. Recently, however, the comments had sort of diminished.

My next car will hopefully be a Porsche . I've been drooling over them big time as of late. My friend owns a 911 GT3 and it's just so ******* sexy. I also really like the Cayman's. Until then, the Z will have to do.

According to Porsche, the 911, Cayman and Boxster are due for a redesign for 2017. I'm going to wait and see if I like what they've done. If it's good, then I'm going to order a 2018 Cayman in Nissan Monterey Blue to match Belle, since the guy at Porsche North America told me I can order the car in any color I want (for a price, of course).

Lmfao at 1st post.

I went to in-n-out and saw the staff 'miring from the window. When I pulled up to pay, 3-4 crew members gathered around the 2nd window so that one of the guys could deliver my food as he eye'd my car. I heard someone in the back say, "I think it's a Nissan s1000."

I lulz'd pretty hard and revved my engine for their entertainment (and mine as well).

Once I pulled up to the Whataburger menu to order and there was a guy out back cleaning. He apparently ran inside to tell someone else, because two others ran to the window and said, "I had to come see. Someone said there was a badass car outside." Then another walked out the side door to check it out.

Oh, and at the car wash I was having it hand washed and they pulled it around to dry it off. Guy next to me tells me (not knowing it was my car), "That's such an ugly colour. Can't stand it." and continued to ramble on about it. I just said, "I kind of like it myself." as they called my name and I walked to the car...
