I think the funniest reaction I have so far is from some some lady in a Camry . I pulled into a gas station with aggressive downshift (and the arc exhaust was barking) to refuel and she starts yelling at me. I rolled down my window and said, "what?!?!" (confused) She said, "you need to return my car! I said you could borrow it... not have it! " . She kept on the facade saying "that's my car you're driving and I said you could borrow it and not have it!" I said, "Oh... I'm sorry I'm just having so much fun with it... maybe I'll return it next week." and laughed. She she said, "the car is just so beautiful! It should mine"

Just had a car pass me on the interstate with a bunch of smiles, stares, and thumbs up. LOL I couldn't help myself, I figured I would make there day and come around them up in the RPM range. They caught back up with me and had a fit about it. Too Funny. FI exhaust sounds so good at 7K.

Interesting thread!

I live in Vancouver, where there are a lot of fairly well off people, and especially immigrant Chinese with a fair bit of disposable cash, so there are quite a lot of nice cars, mostly German sport sedans. Specifically, I live in Yaletown, which is a small area of downtown where the nouveau-riche, douchebag, more money than class tend to reside. There are nice cars EVERYWHERE. The BMW 3 series is the Toyota Corolla of Yaletown. So in Vancouver, I don't get a lot of attention. It's just "there goes another sporty car".

But I took the Z up to the interior a few hours away, to my home town of 80,000 people where I grew up (Kamloops, BC), and I got stares CONSTANTLY. Even though half the people there had trucks worth twice what my 2009 Z cost me, people looked at me as I drove by like "who the hell is THIS guy?" It was pretty funny. I was so used to not getting attention that I forgot that a sport car can actually be considered *rare*. I was kind of like "is there something on my face??" Most of the people there who want a fast car will just buy a Mustang. If they really make it in life, they might buy a Corvette. So it definitely felt like I stuck out!

I just like the fact that there "aren't" to many 370z's on the road. Now 350s and G35s.. that's a different story LOL.

I typically have the local rednecks try to race me on the freeway in their huge trucks. It's honestly the most infuriating thing to have people passing me on the freeway in their Dodge Rams and F350s going 100+ just because I passed them going the speed limit.

On a lighter note I have had some kids hang their heads out of windows and stare at my car at stop lights I always love that.

I think I see 1-2 Zs a week...not many around here.

:iagree: It's happened to me a couple of times as well. Kids really do appreciate the car a lot more.

Voice59 08-12-2015 04:30 PM

On occasion I've had people taking pictures in front of my car while I was in a restaurant. Or the thumbs up. People yelling "nice car". No matter what speed I'm going people want to race me. Any car that "is fast" will come up on my bumper and pretty much ride my tail until I speed up.
