I was waiting for this post. I get these every other day. The clowns almost kill people trying to merge on to the highway.:driving::confused:

I don't think that is valid statement. You can drive like a gentleman and still get the douchebag response, people trying to push you off the road, and the folks that just have to pass that sports car in the minivan. It is just the way it is.

I don't get negative responses, but I typically drive just over the speed limit and in no occasion race people in 5:00 traffic on wet roads. However gentlemanly my driving is it doesn't stop every redneck with their turbo diesel brodozer from riding right up to my bumper and then passing me and slowing down trying to race before eventually taking off going 100+, mad because I wouldn't race them. At least where I am people want to race sports cars, and get mad when you want to obey laws.

Like I said before I can't say it's negative response but it is definitely unwanted. This happens more often if I drive slow and gentlemanly.

350z Back in the day-So I had to take this car to Mexico once as we were going to Rocky Point, our rental fell through bc I was under 25 at the time so just purchased international insurance and parked her at the resort.
1-So first as we are passing the border i got stopped going INTO Mexico and checked, I think he wanted to make sure it was my car and not somebody running across the border.
2-about 30 mins in we are driving through this just RUN down town, boarded up buildings and all and I'm on a single lane road. This guy drives up next to me (in what is not a lane), I see bullet holes along side his truck, thing is 3 different colors, I'm a little nervous, put it down in second gear so I can take off if I need to and finally see the driver. I'm met with the biggest happiest grin I've ever seen and a huge thumbs up. It was awesome.
3-On the drive back home, people posing in front of the car at a gas station and taking pictures.

---------------
370z Nismo- All the time people ask what kind of car that is, nice car, I was stopped at a light and a lady in her 40s talked about how much she loved the car and how she usually doesn't like white cars, but that is just absolutely gorgeous. Then once walking back to a parking lot there was a car circling it with their head completely out the window staring at it. HA. I'm assuming when I get the car back from FI the attention is only going to increase and I can't wait! :driving:

Jinx101 08-24-2015 01:09 AM

Pretty much every time I take the Z out I get a "Nice Z!" or catch someone breakin necks. Not surprising though as I've seen very few 370s around here...mostly Chargers and Mustangs with the occasional Camaro. But yeah, the kids are hilarious. Had a gang of them, around 10-12 years old, chasing me on their bicycles through my neighborhood yelling "Do a burnout!" and "Rev it!". Of course I didn't do a burnout but a couple 5-6k revs through the Ark had them hollering...lol.

I did have this one dude in a Del Sol try and start some stuff. Was sitting at a light and I hear a rattling, clattering racket coming from my left. This Del Sol was wrekt...lol. 5 different colors. Engine sounded like it was about to fall out of the damn thing. Light turns green and I take off with just mild acceleration. Next thing I know this Del Sol comes rolling up next to me hard. I literally thought to myself "This car is going to explode right next to me!". This thing was so loud it actually startled me. I was only at 4k in 1st so I hammered the gas, broke the end out a little, dropped it into 2nd and rolled out. Having that death trap next to me was seriously unsettling.

I get waves and head nods from other Z drivers. The wife gets hit on a lot when she drives it.

Was on my way to Cabela's the other day. Was doing about 75 mph. Had an R8 come up behind me. He stayed behind me for awhile. Basically pacing me. Then he comes up beside me and put the window down. I looked over and he game me the  That made my day. :D

For the first time since owning my Z I've gotten some bad attention, well more like crazy guy going nuts over my car but whatever.

Went to the docs with the Wife for our annual physical, the location is not the best part of town so there's a few odd people around there, any ways I get out of the car and this guy just go nuts, he's about 60 feet away and starts screaming to go f*** my mother, called me a f***ing white basterd / etc. He then starts hitting a metal paper box like crazy and then finally walks away, I was just dumbfounded the entire time while the Wife is telling me not to say anything as the guy is definitely on drugs :).

Lol, more funny than anything, but just goes to show some people are just nuts, thank god when I got back for the doc there wasn't any damage to the car, it crossed my mind.

I think people think the car is more expensive than it really is, so in their minds it's some sorta power play show off car, and that pisses them off because they're jealous on some levels depending on where they set the bar in their minds... or they're just crazy or both!

What I don't get: If the "average" car is now $33k, why the hell are people buying such boring cars when they travel alone 95% of the time? One can pay movers and have most anything shipped directly to your home anymore, so why a "me too" four door sedan or Suv that people take camping once every other summer?

Mine hauls fire wood n beer just fine!!

Pagoda 08-30-2015 06:34 PM

I haven't received any negative attention. Mostly people just looking it over with smiles or nodding approvingly. Quite a few people have complimented it when getting gas or at stop light. But then it could be my intensely engaging appearance too.

DeliriousClam 08-30-2015 07:59 PM

Passing through a construction zone and a cop yelled to me "You have a beautiful car man!" First time I actually got a positive reaction...

370deep 08-31-2015 05:54 PM

being only z in town of 10k people, gets me lots of compliments and attention, specially for the short tails with titanium blue tips, since my car is midnight blue, titanium tips blends perfectly.

Most asked Question about Z.

Hey, Did it come like that ?

SwissCheese 08-31-2015 09:14 PM

I got a thumbs from someone today on my way home from work. I didn't know what to do, so I gave him a thumbs up right back. :ugh2:

2015nismo 09-01-2015 10:26 AM

The other day I was on the highway, there was a little kid maybe 11 in a van that his mom was driving. They stop right next to my Z, and I see the kid with this huge grin nod and give me a thumbs up. I roll the window down and give him a thumbs up, and he looks shocked / scared. Mom pulls away.

Either something disturbing was happening behind me as I lowered the window, or I have a scary face. :ugh2:

2009_370z 09-01-2015 01:13 PM

LOL! I got a thumbs up last night when I was driving home from the gym. A guy in a GTI. As I pulled up, he looked at the car and then had a big smile and gave me a thumbs up like this emoji .

People not in cars usually stare. I've had people think it's a Porsche. Only had 1 car try to race me on the freeway. A scion TC LOL. Other than that it feels like the most aggressive drivers around me are always in Maximas and Altimas.

Spstone 09-05-2015 10:30 PM

I only drove it for a week before I had to leave for work. In that week I got a lot of thumbs up, a couple nice cars, and a lot of jealousy when I took it back to the dealer for a detail.(Bought it on a Sunday and it never got done.) I had a ridicules amount of children in 240xs and civics try to race.

On the other hand my wife say she doesn't like driving it while I'm gone because people won't leave her alone. Every thing from guys hollering at her from other cars to woman telling her the wish they drove some thing like it.

The Z isn't for every one, but I think it's one of the best looking cars out there. I really like the body kit on my NISMO too, just really sets it apart.

Amuse370z 09-05-2015 11:05 PM

My Z is lowered with an Amuse kit on so it gets even more attention than a stock one.

I have too many stories to tell. The weirdest one was one guy in the passenger side telling me to roll my windows down...only to tell me his girl wants to kick him out the car and whether he can ride with me...

Jsmith7861 09-06-2015 12:20 PM

Before I left for my deployment, I was driving back to my house, when I got on the interstate. I was behind a couple cars going slowly, so I put on my turn signal to get over to the left and pass (I should mention it was a 5 lane interstate). The truck in front of me does the same, so not wanting to be rude (and not sure he saw me), I slowed up a bit so he could get out as well. After getting over, he continues to drive slowly. So, I put on my signal again and pass him. He then speeds up, cuts behind me and then in the lane to my left, pulls up next to me and starts yelling at me (With windows up at 70 MPH??) and his wife or girlfriend or baby momma or whoever the piss she was flips me the bird. So, I dropped a gear and left them. I really have no clue what I did to warrant that.

You passed him! That's a major infraction on that guys manhood... I've had the same thing happen to me before simply for passing someone in a truck going slowly around some curves.

The guy followed me to a red light and actually got out of his truck and stood at my passenger window screaming... In an intersection, with plenty of other vehicles stopped there.

Sean370 09-06-2015 01:29 PM

I absolutely cannot wait to find out.

There are so many folks out there that go crazy with road rage. Why??? I have no idea.

It has been happening for years, as long as I can remember. No matter what sports car I have been driving.

jchammond 09-06-2015 03:16 PM

Fat Girlz...JK, Get lots of compliments from older (Senior's) people & also younger people.
Most of them are like " Wow;what kinda car is that?")
it's Beautiful!

EzDz 09-10-2015 09:02 PM

Ive had my z for exactly one week and it got more attention than my straight piped sti... A dude on the side of the road didnt turn his head he walked backwards to watch the car. Another guy drove through the gym parking lot threw like 8 spots just starring and today at chick fila i watched a man 60+ check out the butt, wheels, and then the inside.:bowrofl: I think the nismo body kit is very unique and people from Pittsburgh really dont see them, I have the only one Ive seen and I had it shipped to me.

The nissan dealer guys really seem to hate you for buying nismos lol. I had 4 salesman watch me leave and a few techs never left the side of it. It probably didnt help that im 22 but vets love cars.

Get used to it. :icon17: Wait until you catch them taking video's with their cell phones as you both drive down the highway. :rofl2:

First negative attention this evening while driving through a mall like parking lot. A young guy in another Z at the intersection, I wave to him, he waves back. Then spins tires for 20 seconds with his stupid loud exhaust, scaring half the people going to the movie theater. Then I get the all the nasty looks cause I have the same kind of car. Hope that wasn't a fellow forum member.

Mine had sat on the lot for over a year and all the techs thought they where gonna get a super sweet deal. Guess I swooped in and ****** it up. My service writer who I had a pretty good relationship, has stopped all flirting and has gone to straight bitch mode. She thought my NISMO would be her next car.

Sean370 09-13-2015 01:36 PM

Hello there
Had the car for one whole day now :)

In the last 24 hours I have had a Porsche keep overtaking and dropping back on the M1
Then a random man in a van shout and swear loudly out of his window
An Audi A4 driver wave and smile with thumbs up
And allot of staring as its brand new and very clean :)

sambar 09-13-2015 08:58 PM

Lol this car attracts zero attention in the Bay Area. So many Z's and so many exotics to outshadow them. I feel very inconspicuous in it.

Similar in Fairfield County, CT. Got attention once in the month I've owned it. :o

Had a Biker-probably mid to late 50's say he'd sell both of his Harley's to get a ~Z~ like mine... And was persistent about me selling it to him.

I noticed only Lexus IS owners, both old and new, try to race or rev on me. Oh, and a Dodge pickup that one time. Overall, I think people just look at my cars because they're a bit loud. Otherwise, most people don't care.

Tigger 09-20-2015 10:02 AM

I, too, have been flipped off repeatedly in that car. One time I was heading to lunch and turned down this little access road and a couple in some small SUV were coming the other way. Well at the closest point of approach I notice the passenger (the girl) flipping me the bird. I was perplexed. I had no idea why. I wasn't doing anything to them. And I had a base that was aesthetically stock. I've had all kinds of people just drive by and flip me off for absolutely no reason. And these are people that are passing me. Not the other way around like you might expect. If I did pass someone they would honk or flash their lights trying to be citizen police. Too funny especially when they're doing 20 under the posted speed on a highway.

I'll tell you what... since I dumped the Z everything changed. I now only get stares because people are often confused by younger people drivings 911s. Only twice I've had any type of ****. I've always had an issue with douchebags driving big trucks and it still continues but beyond that, no problems anymore. And if anything, I've become much more aggressive in my daily driving.

In conclusion, I think the general public hates that car and the drivers of those cars. My advice... Buy a 911. ;)
