I also heard LoJack is pretty good, expensive as hell though.

what about just the lojack stickers? visual deterrent, no one want to mess with a car the cops know the location of.

you could get a removable racing steering wheel with locking hub. chances they have a spare wheel and hub that fits your setup is low...of course walking the mall with a steering wheel w/ a club attached to it might get you some looks
